Have you ever seen a bee that only come's out at night? We have been seeing some huge bees lately that only come out at night time. They however do not like light's. They will attack our outside light's. They are about 5 time's the size of a bumble bee, and they are longer then most bees. I haven't gotten to close to them but they look to be black and white, they are not paper wasp's though. In fact they are about 2 to 3 time's the size of any paper wasp I have ever seen. Have you ever seen one or even know what they are?

These bees are something else and I have taked pictures of them and we have had to kill at least 10 of them so far when they enter our mudroom(porch) when the light is on at night when we take the dogs out.
we have a floodlight in our backyard and the other night I watched around 17 of them come attack the light and fall to the ground and go back again. They are some freaken scary looking bees and are HUGE and ONLY come out at night - most of the time we see them from 9pm - 4am when we take the dogs out and have to have lights on.
i would like to know what they are and have some close up pictures of them and will probably be taking a video of them this week - they seem to be coming from beneath our outdoor deck - but we are not for sure on that one

We found that out to the other night we killed one and about 20 of them showed up. I do not know what they are, but they are some nasty things. They are a yellow and brownish color. and huge.

I am not sure what they are but we have them too. I actually read that if you kill one they put out a scent that calls others of their kind. we killed 4 last night. they came one at a time and every time we killed one a few minutes later another one appeared. The are some kind of hornet but i am not sure what kind. They only come out at night and they do attack the light. they have a yellow stripped back end like a yellow jacket but they are 10 times larger.

I would not want one of these huge bee's to sting me they are gigantic. I saw 2 last night when I came home from work. I was just praying they wouldn't try to attack me.

I have never seen such bees. Although I have also thought insects will always crowd around lights during the night as it disrupts their biological clock, causing them to think that it is day now.

These bee's hate the light they actually attack it rather then just hanging around it. I have never seen such bee's.

I am not sure if you remember Murphy or not, but she was stung by some of those bees one night. Right on the back porch at the rental. Her leg was all swollen up for about a week. We killed one of them, but it was huge. It was longer then my thumb and about as big around as that. They hate light's and will attack them, that is how we killed that one, it came into the house when it saw the light.
