Could a third world war beging by accident? Could statesmen and their military advisers grossly miscalculate risks and cause the loss of millions of lives a replication of world war I and II? Is there a possibility of breach of diplomacy and setting of a stage for global warfare? In any case could this be the end of all humanity? lets think outside the box and air our opinions concerning this discussion.

Nuclear weapons are likely to prevent such a war as long as the leaders have some rationality left. No one has interest in starting a war that everyone, them included, will lose. I remember a quote that can answer the last question "i don't know what weapons ww3 will be fought, but i know ww4 will be fought with sticks and stones"

ra1787, if we think of nuclear war heads then probably we will absolutely imagine of anhillation of the world population at large. I guess no leader in their rightful thinking willl ever want to jeopadise even their own life by detonating nuclear bomb. Afew cases of nuclear attainment by war hungry countries will not likely lead the world to path of nuclear war. I think the nuclear non-proliferation declaration treaty suggests that the world isnot ready for nuclear arms race which would probably be worse than the cold war. May be something terribly wrong happens to facilitate nuclear war

yes, definitely a third world war will occur soon where again the same repeatation of deaths, tears and toils will occur much more seriously than the other 2 world wars.this would be the most deadly and damaging war of the world where the existence of world would be in danger. people say that the 3rd world war will be for water, and that should come true if the population will increase in the same manner.

Hi coolcat, thanx for your comment. Sometime i tend to think that since the world todays had more liberal leaders who are ready to listen to advice and make right decisions, it could be abit difficult to possibly predict the type of a provocation that could lead to global warfare. i used to think there before that conflict can result from religious discomfort, but with the election of Obama as the president of the US these thinking now seems far fetched. Still i think that world leaders are in search for global peace and would not allow anything to stop them from achieving this goal. Anyway this is just my personal opinion. good day

Unfortunately this could be a very real possibility! With everything going on in the world including Iran testing nulear weapons and North Korea being alienated from the rest of the world, this could all prove to be very problematic in the not too distant future. I don't like to focus on doom and gloom but the reality is, there are lots of countries in the world that have access to nuclear and biological weapons. There have been countless films demonstrating what it could possibly be like if someone was to finally lay their finger on the magic button! There's just no good news for anyone if that happens in reality. The rich and powerful will probably have access to underground bunkers whilst everyone else would be left to suffer the horrendus consequences. I hope that there won't ever be a world war three but it's absolutely possible. Another thing that has just come into my mind is the fact that the world is running low on resources including food and water! Will countries fight for these things in order to survive? Would they do whatever it took in order to have access to these essential resources? It's a frightening prospect! Andrew

All it takes nowadays is one threat to another country and all hell breaks loose. Especially with how allies are working. If WWIII broke out it would definitely be the end of humanity. Third world countries would be wiped out. Technology would crash because we all know governments regulate the internet. And the main reason would be nuclear weapons. Everyone knows most countries have them whether they admit it or not and they would use them. Nuclear holocaust. :(
