Do you like to turn your cell phone to silent mode?

I always like to put my cell phone on vibravate and sound mode because I most likely will miss the call if I put it in silence... and I can just turn off the sound without haning the calls up so I think it is fine even though people keeps calling and calling.

Mine used to be in the silent mode most of the time when I was in college now it isn't .. Put I pick up call only if they are important even in the ringing mode..And I hate vibrating mode:(

I do put my phone in Silent Mode before I go to sleep, when I am at Church, and when I'm avoiding someone, but I don't entirely want to switch my phone off so as not to miss important messages :D

Hi Chelseaalawn, I will only turn my handphone to silent mode when I need to attend some meeting or job interview,or else, I will adjust to lower volume or vibration mode. When my son is sleeping,I will adjust my handphone to the lowest volume. If there is any incoming calls, I will quickly run out from my bedroom and pick up the call. During outings, I will adjust my handphone to higher volume and vibration because I always put my handphone in my handbag and at noisy place, I don't even know when my handphone is ringing.Only in Vibration mode,then I can feel that my handphone is shaking inside my handbag when there is an incoming sms/call.

I think to turn cell phone into silent mode is a good a way to respect people around me. I hate being disturbed by noise cell phone sounds. So I hope everyone can turn cell phones into silent mode or vibration mode in public.

Ya i usually silent my phone when i am in my collage.And when i sleep so only i silent my phone.But i make it vibrating so that i know that i got a new call or message.

There are some events and occasions when you have to keep your cell phone silent. And even good phone ethics also says that. When you are in a meeting, in temple, mosque, church, gurudwara and other religious places, you are supposed to keep mobile phones in silent mode. I always follow these ethics and advise all to follow these. Even at hospitals and other such places where people can get disturbed due to your cellphone ring, you should keep your mobile phone in silent mode. And most important always keep the volume of your cell phone at a medium level. Keeping it too high is also not a decent ethic.

Same with you, I always put my cell phones on silent mode... Cause I don't like to get any attention from people around me when my phone ringing... I only unsilent my phones when I need someone to wake me up when I'm sleep or waiting an important call.. ^^

I don't get all that many calls, but the ones I do get, I need to hear the phone ringing. I do shut it off when I am sleepong, as I don't need it then. I do text my friend once in awhile so I do need to hear the tone that it does when I get those as well. I have never had my phone on silent, except for when it isn't on of course. My cell phone is the only phone that I have so I do need to be abe to hear it at all times. Have a good day, and happy mylotting.
