I don't know how to react to this. A few minutes ago, Mar Roxas just announced that he's not running for president anymore to give Noynoy a fighting chance for the presidency. He said it's a sacrifice for the country. I just find that weird since Noynoy isn't even decided yet if he will indeed run for President. What could be Mar's hidden agenda behind this decision? I'm sure there's a catch to it.

It will all come clear towards the end. Maybe his motives are honorable, maybe they're not. I guess all we can do is hope for the best and pray that the upcoming elections would be a peaceful and successful one.

i don't know if it's the truth but i heard a rumor that the plan for Mar Roxas marriage with Korina Sanchez was also planned part for his Presidency in the 2010 elections. that Korina's Marriage to Mar has been part of the package (adding Korina gets paid for it), i don't know. all rumors' rumor..

I am sure that Korina and Mar's upcoming wedding has a lot to do with Mar running. They sure know how to use their "love affair" to their advantage.

Well I guess Mar is pressured from giving way to Noynoy. Noynoy's popularity is so strong to date that as a party mate he should give in to the request of the many or else he may lose his bid at any political position in 2010. What is needed right now is a unifying person that could forge a stronger political person that could face the administration candidate. Noynoy is the only oppositionist that has the charm to unify it.

In my opinion, Noynoy doesn't have half the charm that his Dad and Mom had. He's just riding from their popularity and the legacy they left.

I just hope Mar roxas made the right decision to back out from the presidential race. and i hope noynoy will listen to his family first before the outside world. hehehe. i wonder what is korina thinking after mar's declaration. will she still continue the wedding after all what has happened? hmmm.. she must have been looking forward to be the next first lady but it will never happen anymore. hehehe. goodluck to all of us, Filipinos.

What could Korina be thinking right now? Hmmm... maybe this: "What? You can't just back out? I thought we had a plan? Stick to it, or the wedding is off!" hehehehe...

well it might be a political strategy. realization that he wont make it or big risk to deal with it? or better offer? dont get me wrong, am not decided yet who to vote, but looking financially, either him or villar is capable of running for presidency. :)

I've noticed that Mar Roxas is one of those who have long been paving his way to the Malacanang..I somehow admire his courage to cancel his candidacy only because he had been planning for it for so long (with all those korina, engagement and wedding drama..heaven only knows how much they have shelled out for those tactics to gain public support). It really takes a lot of courage to do so despite every preparation they have started. He may not regret retracting but im sure he regrets having to do all those preparations with korina just for nothing...Just my opinion though..please dont hate me

Whatever his hidden agenda is... Mar Roxas' move to step aside for Noynoy Aquino is getting a lot of positive buzz... and other would be candidates should emulated what he did... i admire him for his action mainly because he already spent a lot of money doing his sort of early campaign and even the publicized engagement with Korina Sanchez...
Well, if in fact Noynoy decides not to run for President... Mar could always say he is pushing through with his candidacy... and he already has a big edge over the other presidentiables... since he showed that he is capable of sacrificing himself for the benefit of the country...

hello rakittera,
In my own opinion he did that for if Noynoy will run for Presidency Mar has no chance in winning the position. That if he will go down to Vice, he has a better chance of winning.
Hope and pray that we'll have a clean and fair election for a deserve a good leader.

I think his decision to withdraw his candidacy is smart. He knows Noynoy Aquino is hot today, and Mar Roxas may not win if Noynoy decides to run in another political party.
However, I admire him for his sacrifice and it might be the key for the other candidates to withdraw too.
It's hard to say if Mar Roxas has a hidden agenda, but if Noynoy will win as president and Roxas as vice president then it will be good for him as well.
I just know if someday Mar Roxas will really support Noynoy until the end.
That's the problem of politics, no permanent friends or enemies.
Thanks!

Dammit! I made this first, joke. yeah, it is in such disbelief. but you know that's good,it proves that their camaraderie is strong as colleagues as senators, Mar Roxas knew the risk but it was a terrible risk that made korina cried as well. but it's also a big burden to the Aquino's Mainly Noynoy
