It is very good news for SRILANKAN CRICKET TEAM that his captain is doing well.
this is good for his team & himself........
He is at no.1 position in updated ICC TEST RANKINGS....
AFTER "Gambhir" he is the no.1 so there is a great compition b/w the top grade batsman.. which is good for cricket..

i think the ratings are just waste of time...they are utterly stupid...but still sanga is a very great and talented player...he deserves to be at this position...but these rankings are not always right..for instance mohammed yousuf was out of the game for nearly three years and he makes a century on his return to international cricket and suddenly became the NO.1 batsmen..which eventually was taken over by gambhir....so these rankings dont indicate the true talent and class of a batsmen...

ya i agree with you that ratings are waste of time still i couldn't understand clearly.....it is true that these ratings do not indicate the true talent and class of batsman...but only on the basis of ratings any player can be detected whether he is good or bad performer......

ya that was real good news for SLC that their top batsman is at top again but i think that will change soon as india will play their tests after champions trophy then it will be Gambhir's turn to be at top again.

ya i agree with you that it is absolutely correct that as soon as india play tests then there may be need of correction.
if we talk about the present situation sangakara has 859 points while gambhir has 847..so there is only difference of 12 which is easy for gambhir to grab it's 1st position once again......
so hope for best....

Yes .. I Totally Agree With You .. Kumara Sngakara Is A Batsman With A Touch Of real Class .. No Two Opinions Regarding That .. Gautam Gambhir Is One batsman Who Can turn the Match Around ..

ya it's absolutely correct that gambhir is classic player which can the output of the match if he is in the field then he can do anything for his team so there is no longer that gambhir will be at top...
so I'm again saying that there will be great competition can be seen b/w these masters of cricket......

Yeh Sangakarra is a top quality batsmen and he has improved his game a lot since he gave up keeping. He plays very good drive and is Sri Lankas best choice for the number three position. He is also doing a decent job as captain, he totally deserves the number one spot, but I must say Gambhir is a touch unlucky sine India has not played tests for months not and they still have a long time before they play again.

SANGAKARA great wicket keeper batman...HIS perfomance good for away matches and his innigs support all srilamkan victories. GAMBHIR Innigs support only total score making to support.TOUR perfomance not much good

Sangakkara is a classy Batsman\Keeper and I like him a lot. A person of such a calibre is the best defined to Lead Srilanka and I am very Happy about it. Thanks for starting this Discussion and have a great day ahead. Happy Mylotting. Cheers:-)

he is a very good player of both format 50-50 over cricket or test matches i will not surprised if he gets 1st ranking for a long time may be he break the record of number one test player.....But i want to add one thing,its my personal thinking,he is not so good in 20-20 cricket well thats the fact we all saw in IPL or 20-20 world cup...But he is capable of doing good performance in 20-20 cricket...I hope so...
