I get a lot of dreams at night, and i don't forget it. Sometimes/most of the time my dreams comes true... It freaks me out. Sometime i feel really happy and excited about it. I feel that all my dreams have some meaning or the other. May be related to by sub conscience. Guess its the same with all. I have read a lot of books on psychology. Dreams play a major part in psychology. But i don't know how far scientists have actually proved this concept... (ESP)

There's a Chinese saying here that you dream what you think during the day. In my opinion dreams really have something to do with psychology. When you are worried about things in daytime you might get some related dreams at night. But interesting that most of the time your dreams come true . I don't have such situation yet. I don't like dreams at all which mean you don't have a good sleep.

Personally, I do feel that dreams have their own meanings. I don't know if all of them have meanings. However, I do believe that a lot of the dreams that we have do have their own meanings. We may not always know what they mean or what the dream is trying to tell us, but it has a meaning and is trying to tell us something.

I used to get real freaky dreams as well. But it stopped now though. Perhaps its true that dreams have some connection with the reality. Most scientists believe that dreams are that part of your thoughts that have been tucked away after an instant of materialization. that is, when we suddenly think of a possibility or a thought when see an incident, and we discard it so quickly even sometimes we may not realize we've thought about it; this sometimes takes the shape of a dream. This would also explain why many dreams have surroundings and people who are familiar to us, yet some not very familiar to us, and sometimes even a mix of both. While i do not actually believe in ESP and such, i do know that the working of one's mind is mysterious, especially the subconscious mind. Perhaps you may remember that when you were younger, you could think about two or more things simultaneously, even though they have nothing to do with each other. That is, in less than a second you could think of many different thought streams. As one grows older, we train ourselves to think only one thing at a time... and with that we never realize how mysterious our minds are. I'm not saying dreams don't have meanings - there used to be a time i used to think the same as well - but most of them are a materialization of our subconscious thoughts. When one's life is predictable or if you tend to think of your future a lot, dreams seem to come true. Of course, i could be wrong - what with all the unexplainable mysterious things happening around lol but its just my 2 cents as i've experienced it. Happy mylotting.

Sometimes people say dreams have meanings. I don't really believe that. I have dreams most of the night. I remember some of them, but forget many of them as soon as I get up. I had a funny dream last night. I went to the my hostel mate's room and got it without notice (didn't knock on the door) and she got angry because she was not properly dressed. I apologized for doing it and left the room. The funniest part is that I did the same thing again (in the dream)and she was angry as before.

Yeah i think dreams are the result of our subconcious mind. Dreams do have meaning cause it reflects our desire,emotions,...for eg.if you have a exam tomorrow then most probably the dream would be of that exam.So every one should try to find out the meaning of the dream.

Today's discussions seem to be about dreams. Is it the change in weather that's causing more people to dream lately. I had a dream the other night that I was at the salon getting my hair styled. (what was that all about). And then the next day, I got a call from a contest I entered that I had won a prize. Where's the connection? I know I'm going to make sure my hair look nice to take pictures, since I know I will have to. LOL

Dreams do have a meaning. As you have yourself said that dreams are nothing but the thoughts that are lingering in our sub-conscious level! There is something called dream analysis - which actually helps you read your dreams so that you can overcome the real life situation. Dreams give us the solution to our day-to-day problem and it is in our hands to read it or ignore it. You can have a look at one of my discussions on dreams - hope that is of some help to you :) - http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2026028.aspx
