What do you thinks is the most difficult? What about the easiest?

Hello Jen. I like listening to music. I very much like the sounds of the different musical instruments. Each instrument is unique, and so enchanting. Let me say I like every one of the instruments. But, I cannot play any musical instrument. They are all so difficult for me to learn, leave alone to play. But, to answer your question, if I were to play, the most difficult one for me would be the saxophone.

Saxophone isn't so bad.. I've always thought that learning the harp or playing slap bass would be hard.. I think that electric bass is pretty darn easy tho.

i've heard that saxophones were the hardest instruments to play, but when i asked a saxophone player, he said it was pretty easy. he and a trombone player considered trombone to be the hardest instrument, though.

first of all, with practice, any instrument will feel easy.
however, i believe that the easiest instrument is the elementary recorder. :)
i started playing piano at a very young age, and i don't remember feeling physically challenged(except for having small hands). now, i'm starting to play around with different kinds of instruments. i find bowed/orchestral/string instruments to be slightly harder for beginners than wind and percussion instruments. it's hard to keep the pitch steady with a bow, and the standard tuning intervals for the string instruments (except for bass)are perfect fifths, which makes it harder for beginners to stretch their fingers far enough to hit the correct pitch when playing. string instruments are very "strict". you have to have the correct posture, the instrument must be perfectly tuned, your bow has to be rosined just right, etc. i found the guitar easier to play melodies on, but playing chords were challenging.
wind instruments are harder on your body. they require strong lungs, and sometimes strong arms and neck. the saxophones are played while hanging by a strap on your neck. your hands give little, or no support. imagine how heavy a baritone saxophone would be. also, when playing a wind instrument, your embouchure must be precise. when playing the flute, you do not put your mouth on a mouthpiece. you rest your bottom lip on a lip plate, over the flute's embouchure hole. if your embouchure is not "correct", you will get an airy sound when playing. but, everyone has different embouchures, so there isn't just one correct way of getting a perfect tone. some people get a perfect tone on their first try, but usually, beginners find it very difficult to even make a sound on the flute.

i am a musician and i can say that all the musical instruments are hard to play. you give time and concentration and give your all if you want to learn an instrument. i know how to play the guitar rhythm and bass and the keyboards as well, but the easy part once you know how to play one instrument specially the string ones you can play almost any kind of string instrument all you have to do is to listen the tune very well.

Well, the Violin is the hardest instrument to learn and the drums are the easiest.
Although it all depends on opinions and personal experience. Some people take to instruments easier and some not so much.
Each instrument has things that are easy to do and things that are hard to do.
Take the drums for instance, keeping a beat with just one drum is quite simple while keeping a beat and doing 3 other things at the same time is very difficult.
Again it all comes down to perception.
