Sometimes money make us so crazy to get more meoney. Money may tend someone to use any way to get more money. Man or woman is the main factor for using or getting money in his/her life. In fact, the root of all evil is not money. It is the human lust for wealth and power. Money, like a knife or atomic energy can be used for evil or good. What's your opinion?

..No.. I definitely not.. Money is not the root of all evil BUT IT IS THE LOVE OF MONEY THAT IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.. people love money so much that they do everything to have it.. Much love of money drives people to dream having more and more money because as a partner of money, they will have power.. People are not contented of what they have.. their love of money is associated with greediness.. as if they want to own everything in the world..

We currently live in capitalist society, and money is the basis of capitalism. In that sense, money is the root of all evil while it is also the root of all the good. Let's put it this way; back in the days before civilizations, there were no such thing as money but people were purely hunting for food. When there is not enough food, people often go crazy to get more food thus compete with each other to do so. When people started gathering in an organized group, they then started going crazy about land, to make food and get hold of other resources. Now, we deal with money instead of land. The global economy cannot keep it's shape with barter exchange but rather have to deal with cash instead. As you've mentioned, it is the human lust for wealth and power that drives us crazy, but at the same time, make us moving. Without lust, humans would not advance but rather become extinct. That's the rule of nature - greedy one wins.

Currently, capitalist society make world's economy in crisis. Now, global economy do not work well because there is not ethics and morality in their effort to get more money.

Exactly right, but that is not specific to money, and it is not something new either. Back in the days when people used to hunt to make living, they often killed each other to secure food. And during the era when land was essential part of the economy, which wasn't long time ago and in fact still is for some countries like China, people fought through wars to claim the land. In both cases, there were hardly any morals involved in going crazy about stealing other people's property for their greed. Just like how land was replaced by money in recent days, there would be another replacement for the 'root of all evil' whenever money happen to hold less value than now. It's a sad thing aye... but I guess it's our nature of survival after all :(

The love of money is the source of all evil. Money is something we all need for purchasing things of any kind, but it is when one loves money he gets down to doing unlawful things.

No i think desire is the root of all evil be it desire for money or lust or greed for anything else. Money is just a tool created by man. Humans are the one's who turn it into the weapon it now is.

Yes I agree with you, money has nothing to do with humans becoming bad. It is human that make the image of money bad. Man can make good money as well if he chooses to use it for the good of everybody. So I think money has nothing to do with being bad or good of humanity. It is the individual choice to be bad or good.

Money is not the root of all evil. It becomes evil when you used it irresponsibly, if you know how to handle your money correctly then it will even become a good companion in your life rather than becoming evil.

I think anything done or performed in excess makes evil things rise, money does not always give rise to evilness or leads to evil things, it is only when we misuse money.Only when we dont come to figure out the value of money in a right way. That time money makes us evil and becomes its root cause.Otherwise money is a source for good living and high thinking but when we out of control everything becomes bad.

You are correct. The love of money is the root of all evil. Money is just an essential part of living. We need money to buy things we need. But if utilize money to satisfy excesses in life like a multi-million dollar mansion or a luxurious two-seater sports car, then money had been used unwisely. We can live in a humble home and travel in a family van.

Hi there! Yes, money can be used to do good or bad by mankind but it is not the root of all evil. Evil comes in when money is being associated with greed and power. However, money can also be a medium of goodness wherein one could share his wealth to the needy. Cheers!

I dont. I think lack of it is the root of all evil. :-) Let us say - our desire for money creates potential energy, and when we put in efforts to get it - this potential energy becomes kinetic energy. It is up to us to convert that potential energy into kinetic, or leave it at the potential level. That is physics. I dont know how the root, and evil fit in it. Root is biology, and evil is theology. ha ha.

Yes, I agree with many of the people who have posted, that itis not money as such, but thelove of money and the lust for power etc. In fact the quote about money being the root of evil I think comes from an oft misquoted Bible verse, which when you read it in context actually does say 'the LOVE of money is the root of evil' and that you ';cannot serve two master, both God and money'.

You already have said what I was gonna say. lol. I must agree you are right. Money is not the root of evil, greed is.. Well, how can an inanimate object possibly do bad when it's not even moving. Man just wanted to find something to blame on for his/her mistake.

I don't think that money is the root of all evil. It's the love of money that is the root of all evil. Money is just a tool that people use, so it still depends on the person who has money. Money can be used for both good and evil, unfortunately, humans are sinful by nature and generally speaking, it's a lot easier to think of ourselves rather than to think of others.

Money is definitely just one of the roots of evil but not of all evils. How we handle things is all that mother. One should learn how to make money work for him and not to be a slave of it. Make it complimenting your life and not a destruction.

no i don't agree with that.. yes we can say that all of us needs money, but as what the bible say "the love of money is the root of all evil", it's not bad to earn more or to wish to have money but if you're thinking all about money, that you love your money so much that's the time we can call it evil..

Well,I think there are many roots of all evail, and money is just one of them.I think the most important root of evil can be interest, once people's interest conflict with each other, evil thing happen, for interest, there are a lot to say, such as the gap between poverty and wealth, ethinic differences, political issues and so on.

There is a saying that "Never chase money or power". I didn't understand it earlier but as I grew old I come to know the real meaning of it. Its just that humans are so greedy about certain things that makes them loose the sense of right and wrong. We are a destructive creature by nature to make things worst. We will do whatever it takes to satisfy our hollow greeds and dig the pits for ourselves. Unfortunately we need to blame something for all this cause instead of accepting our own mistakes. In this case its "money". We created money to make our lives better but now the same money is being used to make evil. Its a never ending quest which will only lead to destruction.
