Need tips on how to free up hard drive space without damage?

I need more space on my computer but I don't want to accidentally remove something important to my computers function, or remove somthing I need by mistake. can you all give me some tips on (safe) ways to clear up space without damaging my computer or losing something I need. please I could really use some tips.

When I need more space,I will Cleaning up my hard disk,delete unuse files.
Internet surfing will download many kind of files.you will get more space after do this steps:
Internet option-delete files.
you can change temporary folder postion of IE:
Internet option-setting-Move folder.
