Hey there mylotters, This happened about 50 minutes ago or so and I'm still trying to deal with it. Thought I'd post in the hopes that maybe some of you guys and gals just might respond so I could have some human interaction as I try to stay as calm as I can for now and also try to cope with my feeling(s) of creepiness. *kinda wanting to laugh out loud but not even able to begin to do so*... I am mainly wishing I could *scream out loud*, since I live/am inside by myself and no one else could even hear me except God, but that doesn't seem to be a possibility either! Here's what happened earlier. I have some cat "friends" which I have been feeding (and watering) regularly for quite some time and they have begun to "trust" me as best they can. Okay... Two in particular are a momma and her baby (about 5 months old). They also both let me pet them and "seem to try to communicate" with me. A while ago, momma made contact with my screen door, as if maybe trying to tell me "something" or wanting/needing to make contact. So I thought, hmmm ... Okay, what's up? Actually I wondered if momma S was trying to tell me that "her baby" needed help or something. So I put my shoes on, got my outside seeing glasses and went to take a peek. Turned on my outside light and went right around the side of my building (I live in a duplex/half a double). Saw baby "Muse" on the lawn, she/he? (think "it's" a she. Might need to do a whole nuther topic on help for me to domesticate the both of them, any help when I do will be greatly appreciated.) Muse seemed fine (and I was greatly relieved!), but however also appeared to be "investigating" the grass close by. So I did take a wee bit of a closer look. "Muse" was still seemingly okay, as I turned to further check things out. But since I also had my outside porch light on, I happened to notice a small shadow along the brick wall of my place. It was about three to four inches. No I haven't even googled that info and am almost afraid to do so now. I really got creeped out, because I think it was a mouse. EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. Big EW!! Never saw any of them here before where I live, but am sure they are everywhere!! Ugh!! So anyway, I came back right back inside and closed my door, since I was and am still thoroughly creeped out!!! Like big major ewwwwwwwww!!! Later though I will turn my light on again and bravely venture back out to make sure Sheebs and her kitten have plenty of porridge to help them make it thru the night. Forgive me guys for rambling, but I just needed to reach out for some human contact if anyone sees/reads this post and cares to respond. Perhaps I was also trying to vent, to keep from being overwhelmed by anxiety. Thanks if anyone reads this and chooses to respond. By the way, I am also going to be real brave in a few minutes and go make sure my little "wild cat friends" have plenty of food for the rest of the night. Take care, firefox333

firefox my friend..Calm down..You are safe..Im sure that the cats don't know that it is around yet. They smell the mouse scent and they will go on the prowl for that little nasty mouse. I don't like them things either. To me for you to be able to start this discussion shows some real strength. Im proud of you. Stay calm and remember your cat friends will take care of it for you. Go ahead and laugh at yourself. It will help. Trust me..

Hey there my friend rosepedal, Hope things are going well for you and all of yours in your world and that you're doing alright. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond to this seemingly silly discussion which I started and thank you for your input and comforting comments. Please forgive me for my rudeness of not replying sooner. I was major freaked out at the time was also trying to deal with other stressful issues that bother me. I already have problems with anxiety stuff. Partly because of my husband dying suddenly & unexpectedly about 12 yrs ago, I guess... But again, please forgive my rudeness for not replying sooner to your post. Appreciate your time to put in YOUR input. *smiles and hugs*... Plus for whatever it's worth, guess I got burnt out online or with mylot, tho' I think this is a great place. I am just sorta shy in real life, but it shouldn't effect my online time, ya know?!? *lol* So anyway, yeah... Ya wanna know/ prob'ly not now, cuz it took me SO long to respond to your kind comment... but... *lol*... If you do... There musta been something out there, but luckily it wasn't outside my house the next morn, nor anywhere else in sight!! Thank God!! But I am SO certain I did see a shadow of sorts the night before! Even went to check the next day. Nothing at all that could have resembled it. Ew and shew!! Thankfully at least, my cat "friends" did NOT bring me any "presents", either. Because that would have been like SO way gross, even though that is just a natural instinct of theirs. And I was already so totally freaked out. Take care, firefox333

Yikes! Keep your door closed...and try to relax a bit. Hopefully that yucky mouse ran off and is far away from your house now. Surprised the kitties haven't chased it away. Or perhaps they have, and they deserve an extra treat!

I know how you feel because I'm also terrified of them. In your case though I wouldn't too nervous. As long as you have cats around the property I'm sure the cats will take care of that creepy mouse. Good luck and try to stay calm.

Hi there lelin1123, I appreciate your response and for taking the time to reply. Hopefully my response as well will go through tho', as I believe I mentioned earlier, I seem to be having problems with my connection company clearwire for whatever reasons especially tonight and that really sucks big time!! Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I do realize that no matter how loveable and "tame" and homely/domesticable and such they seem to be or are... that most or all of them are also "hunters". Ew..... But since they are that way due to their inborn/breed nature... it's good to know they will also can hopefully keep those mousey critters at bay! *lol* Yes, I am also trying to stay calm. If not I would truly be inviting other anxiety issues, which are so totally unnecessary. Thanks for your suggestion however! Just an update however, I did recently dare to peek outside. Everything appeared to be safe, so I ventured out and quickly replentished my feline "friends" food supply for the night. Thankfully I saw no more "shadows" like earlier, nor did I find any "presents"... as least not yet! *lol*... Hopefully not any yet later or whenever or ever! Take care, firefox333
