What is the problem happened with gmail ?

Look like gmail has a outage for several hours.I first thought that it was with my problem in my opera browser.But i found that i was having problem with other browsers also.We rely so much on google now,what if the problem persists for a long time..What is the actual reason for the cause of this problem ?
