Yes, I did. It was back in the early 1960s. Back then, there was no TV, no DVD and no computers. We wanted to watch a movie called "The 300 Spartans". We got our tickets and went into thee cinema hall. We waited and waited for the main feature to start but instead when the credits roll, it was an Elvis show called "Wild in the country". We were obviously disappointed and angry. We felt cheated.Later, we found out that the other show we wanted to see was the next show. What we saw was the early matinee show.Since then, we always make sure that it is the correct show that we are buying the tickets for by asking the ticket seller. Even today, with so many cinema halls showing films simultaneously, there are people who still missed their shows and had to move to the right halls to see the balance of that movie.Do you have such experiences?

Hi,
Hahaha...that's funny!
It happened to my family and I too, I think it was
two years back. We wanted to watch the animation
movie called 'Meet the Robinsons'. So we went to
the tickets counter and tell the lady there, can
we have 'Meet the Robinsons' for 1.15pm show?
At that point of time 'Mr. Bean' is also selling
like hot cakes. So, this lady confused and issued
us 'Mr. Bean' for 1:15pm show. You now nowadays,
cinema have many halls and many movies at the same
time. Normally I do check my tickets, but since my
family and I are rushing for lunch, I just put it in
my jean's pocket.
After the lunch, we go into the cinema...as per the
hall stated and seated at the allocated seat. We enjoyed
the trailers, the advertsisements and the show start...
Mr. Bean appeared, then only we realised we got the wrong
movie. Quickly out from that hall and check with the
attendant outside the halls that we were issued with wrong
movies..he quickly direct us to the hall that are showing
'Meet the Robisons', thank God there are still available
seats in the other hall...the best part is ~ it has not started.
We watch trailers again and did not missed the movie at all!
If you hear properly...this two titles have similarity :-
Meet the Robin
and Mister Bean
My advise will be : Check the tickets before leaving the
counter...

That must one funny mix-up. Good that you sort it out before the other movie began. As such, it is always good to come early to the cinema so that we can have time to choose the better seats and can ensure we also have the right hall. Anyway, such an experience is quite unforgettable and teaches us a lesson or two.

It didn't happen to me (hadn't yet, I must say), but I remember a few years ago a friend of mine telling me that she wanted to watch "Solaris" with George Clooney, whan it just came out in cinemas. She and a friend of hers found out there was a small cinema near their university that was showing it, so they went and bought the ticket. When the film started, thought, it was an old one... they thought it was a kind of technique for flashbacks or something... after half of the film passed they relized there was no George Clooney.
It was the original film, made maybe fifty years ago.
Ahahahah

I have had very bad experieces watching movies. I used to be a movie fanatic and would watch almost any movie whenever I had time in hand. Once when I was in a different non-english speaking country, I went to watch "Gladiator" but unfrotunately I met a wrong guy who was in the mood of making some money by selling me black tickets. He sold me the ticket for double the price and when I went in it was local language film and that too half of it was gone. As soon as I sat the lights were one and people started out for buying snacks. I was seriously angry and didn't know what to do. I tried to go after the guy who sold me the ticket but he was nowhere to be found. Obviously he won't wait for me to come and get him. But then I learnt a lesson not to be blindly fanatic about anything.

Oh yes,
I remembered purchase the wrong tickets and ended up
watching the wrong movie. Thank God, we realised it
before the other show started.
We managed to changed hall to the right movie and
enjoyed till the end. It was really funny when we think
about it. I think we must always ensure the right ticket
and the right time...in order not to repeat this mistake!
