Hi! Extra money around my home is so few and far between. It is a rarity. My family does donate clothes, and other items to charity. My children have helped to feed the homeless at a shelter about 80 miles from home. We donate to Catholic Social Services, Helping Hands, Salvation Army, and several others that are local to us.

yes i do donate once in a while, not just when i have many money or extra money. as long as i see that there is a need to give, i donate what i have or part of what i have if i cannot give it all. i dont have any specific organization where i give my donation, i just give when i feel the need or when i see someone really needs it.
i have heard this once, when you have none in your hand, the more it is you have to give...

When I was working full time - I had a consistent donation to a well project that serves the third world countries and also a religious affiliation that I was in when I was in college. Unfortunately, I had to cut those off when I became a part-time worker. Hopefully,I'll get back my full-time hours. Then I'll think about donating to charity again. For now - I just run for charity since there isn't much I can do.

I have a couple of friends that aren't as well off as we are, right now, during tis recession. So I will help them out every now and then (when we can) with little things like clothes for the baby and gift cards at Christmas. I work for a non-profit organization and I used to donate to one or two all the time, but now that I have seen the "back side" of this organization, I think I will stick to giving to the friends that I know will appreciate it!

There are alot of people outthere that need the help. I see alot of people asking for donations in the mall. I try and make the effort if I have any extra change. I would give them my loose coins. On accasion I would buy girls cookies or if they come to my door. I donate my old clothes to local trift stores. As for donating to charities. I always try to make the effort but I never have to funds to do it. I think maybe for christmas I will donate to charities

I do not have lots of money or extra income. I do make donations at times though when we can afford to spare a little bit of money. We usually get caught up in it at Christmas time with the bell ringers.

I do not have a lot of extra money just yet but I do have in mind where I want to give money to if ever I already have the money to donate. Our church has an orphanage in the slums and I would like to donate money there because they are helping the homeless street children to have a better life, to have food, shelter and clothing plus the education they need so that they can be able to earn their own living when they grow up. An amount as small as $10 monthly is already a big help for supplying the needs of these children. I have been there and have seen the little boys there. Each one have sad stories to tell as well as the hope that they found when they were adopted by the orphanage. Here is the website of our orphanage. www.jllcf.com

I have donated the old clothes to the poors. It is a personal organization. I also donated money to China Red Cross when the serious earthquake happened last year. Although I am not very rich, but sometimes I hope to do something for the people who in need.
I love China

My husband and I donate money to a charity organization in our country. We support a project called "Grandmother help", and each month we send money to a group of elderly women in Kyrgyzstan. They spend the money on medicine, heating and other daily neccesities.
I read about this project on the internet and I wanted to support those women, because they really need money. My husband and I sponsor the women the way that some people sponsor or "adopt" a child. The children who need help receive a lot of attention, and of course there is nothing wrong with that, but I think there are many other groups of people who also need help, and the elderly women in Kyrgyzstan is one of those groups.

Yes I do. Of course I can't always donate as much as I would like to but I try whenever I get the chance. I'm a pretty firm believer in karma or energy and how it goes and comes around. Either way it makes me feel like a good person and that's what I strive to be.

Hi srikandi, I prefer to donate to people I know about. There are some families I know who really need help but find it difficult to ask, I always feel its better to give people like that than to big and world famous charities who get a lot of donations from the rich and the celebraties. Of course whenever I see a collection box for cancer or Help the Aged or alzheimers, I drop a few coins or whatever I can afford at that moment.

so far, i have not made any much donations regardless to whatever organization.. hehe ^_^ I'm not earning that much, and even my extra income are just enough to cover my expenses and bills.. hehe ^_^ The most i will donate is about a few dollars, but never more than $10.. haha =D
The times i will be donating are during flag day, whereby students are using tins, asking for donations, everywhere.. lol =D I will then donate some money, get a sticker, and stop all the others from asking me again.. lol =D

For two consecutive years now, my online friends have conducted an outreach program. This is a program wherein we choose a certain charity or organization, and we will conduct a party and have some donation for their home and for the individual itself. We choose kids' shelter. Wherein the kids who leave there are abandoned by their parents. We chose two different shelter for each year. Each individual will just give what they can, either in for of cash or goods. and of course presence in the event is also important. We also send out letters to our other friends and some companies for solicitation. So far, those two years was successful and it is really inspiring to see the kids happy with what we have done.

Even for now i have no money or i'm not rich person I already donated many times.
But i should agree every time my donation was not big one. however i did my best and showed my care to people who needed help.
I think we don't need to be rich to do donation. if we want to do we can do any time.
if i do have money i think i will donate some to the cancer research organization more. I think it's very important for human being to get progressed in cancer research field. many people in the world are suffering from these cancers and many people in the world are in a risk of these disease too.

Hello srikandi19, about your topic, I donate my extra money to the less fortunate people. In our country, there are so many street children and something must be done about that, so an organization S.O.S took the street children and took care of them, but they needed funds, so that is why I have donated some of my hard earned money to them. I am happy that I have helped the children even with my little money, it feels great to help someone, it really warms my heart.
