Stealing -Profiles, Discussions, Names, Comments!!

So, the other day or a couple of days ago, I'm online searching myself! I do that from time to time to see where I rank in search engines, see what's out there on me, see how well my blog is doing and so forth! So, I get to searching my web name, Taripre$! Well, look at what I found, somebody stealing my stuff!!! Granted, they used my name like I do, at the end of the post, but not using it as their own! ok I got that, but why are there multiple persons in this one forum using my comments to answer each other? But lets go back;
A while ago, around when I first started here, I did over 500 posts my first week! One of the posts is called "Where R My Writers?", some of you may remember that one. So the search of Taripre$ brought up my post here and the other post that I didn't do; the same exact everything! Some people would say, it's not considered stealing if my name is on it. Well, they just might think that's their writing name or something, I don't know. But, I'm actually pretty upset about it and joined the forum so I can talk about them and tell them about themselves. It's silly, this isn't an assignment, they didn't say they found this and liked it so I'm posting it here, nothing like that! They just took my discussion from here and started it there, then that person and several other people used all of my comments to answer other comments; crazy and whack! I'm assuming it was a few people from here at MyLot, I could be wrong!
Here's the link and browse around, you'll see how several people stole my comments and used them as answers and responses to other people in the forum! It's about 4 pages of pitifulness.....(if that's a word..lol)

Hello my friend
Welcome back
I am so behind in my notifications sorry about that, well this is really sad if this is the case, do you get anything from this site for posting discussions? could it be that whoever did this just liked it so much they wanted to share it with the rest of the internet I didn't get a chance to look I will do that after I am done here just trying to play devils advocate if they are not gaining anything or trying to make you look bad in anyway maybe you should take it as a compliment geez I don't know I hope I am right and maybe they liked it so much they wanted to share it with others.I will go see it now.

Welcome to the world of published writers! I have seen a lot of my full-length print and online articles republished in various websites and blogs without my permission.
Since there are no clear rules in cyberspace about plagiarism, dishonest and low IQ people who can't spin a coherent paragraph by themselves assume it's okay to steal other people's stuff.
Unfortunately, there's not much I could do about them. But I do put a Copyscape logo in each of my blogs to warn off people as much as possible from copying the things I write.

I mean, at least link to the source and acknowledge the author, that's what the pros do! i was Associated Content and they say if you use an already published article, link to the source of the article and include the author! So, to keep yaself from headaches, either do that or come with your own variation!! But leave my stuff alone

The rules about copyright are the same on the internet as in "real life". They have no right to steal your work, period. Complain to the host of the board with supporting facts, and if that does not work complain higher up to the board's provider. Familiarize yourself with the Digital Millenium Copyright Act, and learn how to complain.

Copyright of our post here will be protected by myLot?I think it's impossible. This is a forum, not personal weblog,I think there has less people will think about this. After all, this place hasn't a strict copyright policy and where do we go to put our Creative Commons licenses on?
But I think if you care about too much, you can take your ways to protect yourself. For example, disclose their action of plagiarizing or lodge a complaint to admin who is the owner of that site, tell them the truth,is there anything else methods?Have you got confidence to let plagiarist compensate you something?
Now the time is 1:20 in the morning at Chinese Time Zone,it has been the second,I'm a bit hungry and a bit sleepy, but I am still dashing ahead regardless of my healthy. If one day, this response will be plagiarized,if by any chance,I can remember my status on posting it,I think I must be a little angry

Ok, what in the heck is Creative Commons? I went to the site and don't quite get it! I may be slow or it's something I'm overlooking! To me it, it looks like a place to let people steal your stuff, does it pay? If so, depending on how much, I may not mind!

Unfortunately, Taripres, this is all too common, as I'm sure you know. It has happened to me here on Mylot and in other places, as well. Since I write many things, the occurances of "plagerism" and copying and pasting my work are a concern!
When it happened here, someone else discovered and reported the offender, and he ultimately lost his account.
I don't know what absolute solutions exist. I do know of a few bloggers who've given up keeping copyright and have now made their work freely accessible to everyone, only asking that they be credited with said work.
Again, I don't know of any viable solutions to stop the frequency of this.
Best of luck to you.

Well that sounds like a solution, though I'd rather they leave my stuff alone! The problem occurs when they start to do modifications of my writing or thoughts and take it to a place where it wasn't suppose to be! Though they may try n make it their own, it may come back to me or mistaken as I stole the idea or writing! That's what makes it upsetting, people are just so ignorant!

I suppose there really are no solutions that work every time, and like you, I do not like my writing altered or taken places it was not intended to go. And for sure, I don't want to be the original writer with someone playing the "my word against their word" game of who wrote it first.
Plagerism is wrong for many reasons!

Yep, haven't seen any of my fake profiles lately, though as of late I don't think it would be wise to be me right now Lately in some forums people are trying to label me negatively because they don't understand my online business! So, I think they should stay away from the Taripre$ name until I get this squared away and clear my "name"

Ok Wigixer, u got issues Though that would be great, it would be very time consuming, no one would ever steal content, but what about profiles? They would have to copy that by hand as well? Draw a profile picture and everything...? That would be rough and funny

No, no ... in fact there is a method the developper of the site could use...
The stealer would be obliged to copy the content by hand, at least, it would be harder for the thief...
On the other hand, the site could be heavier to load if the developper use this method....
There will always create drawbacks if you want to have advantages:
Copyright protection -- performance decrease!

I would report them to the admin of the board, and give him a reference link to here where he can see that you were the original starter of this discussion. Hopefully they can ban the person at best, or if nothing else take away his copy and paste priviliges, while that may not stop him it might slow him down, least it should!

Yeah, I thought about and just may go through with it, along with blasting the individuals for being a fraud! See how many comment and respo0nses they stole from my discussion? Wow, no creativity what's so ever! Here's my discussion on Mylot:

I would file a DMCA complaint with the board. I am not sure of the details, but plagarism is theft and the new act give you some teeth against it. Sorry I am not familiar with the details because I have not had to do that yet. I usually wait until I have to do something before I learn all about it.
When you produce an original work, and that includes writing, you automatically own the copyright to it, that means only you have the right to copy. You do not have to sue or go to court, just inform whoever runs the board of your ownership. I think there is a format you have to follow when you complain.

I like that, I'll try that maybe today! Hope it works and they take it down, got all the comments through the post and everything, it's crazy!! I commented and gave a best response on my original post here, it's called "Where R My Writers?" So it should be back up, go check it out!

Oh, my G*D, that is so rude! now, am a bit more afraid in writing my own discussions, just imagine all hard work and then get's to be stolen by some punk who doesn't give a damn about the posters hard-work and just stole. i believe mylot should install a system that prevent people outside mylot from stealing our post..if we can't copy-paste from outside, then those who are outside shouldn't copy paste our Brains! this is a clear Disadvantage to us..

Try not to worry about it, and just ignore it. It's not a big deal if someone pretends to be you. You should be flattered, if anything. Not angry.

Yeah, it's sort of flattering, but more aggravating if anything! I don't like people taking my stuff without permission, then no link back, not being acknowledged?! What if my stuff get twisted one day, and then they wanna put my recognition on it after they den messed it up?! I can put my own foot in my mouth, don't want anyone else's in there except my girls', but not hers that often either
