what is important in a relationship? trust or respect?

I think both of trust and respect are important in relationship.. Beacuse if their is trust in relationship then their is respect are also in any relationship..and if their is respect in relationship then their is trust automatically show in relationship...So both are important in any relationship.. Both are both side of a coin...

for me its a very vital part of a relationship to have both, if ever i would lose trust i would have to strive hard to forgive in order to forget if i love the man im with so much...there is always a second chance if both are willing to work on it. you cannot respect someone you dont love and trust. i think there is still trust remaining in your heart, the fact that what he did to you before keeps coming back means you are not over it. therefore you should talk it with him heart to heart and maturely and then you both should work on it to forgive each other....its the only way for trust to really comeback strong. afterall this problems in our relationships makes us strong. dont worry you are not the only one with this problem.

trust respect, both are important you can't choose between any.. these main pillars among other pillars like compromise, listen, friendship, responsibility & kill you ego.. you can't remove any of these pillars.. otherwise the relationship will wall..

Hello, the trust is what I consider to be very important. If I have no trust for my partner how can I respect him! They both go together.No trust in a relationship will probably not last, sorry to say.

i guess both are important. if there's no trust then i don't think your relationship will be smooth as you will always have doubt. staying with relationship with only love and respect alone is not a guarantee for a lifetime. though if there's no respect it always follows with no love at all. try to give him another chance, and if his still doing the same mistakes then he already ruin not just your trust but also respect to you. coz by doing it again and again, it means that he doesn't respect you nor love you at all.

I am 100% positive that a relationship can't work without the three major spices (random order): trust, respect, will. If all three are on on both sides, if one is endangered by a certain action, can be dealed with more or less and time can heal the injury .. All three are equaly important and a relation can't survive if one is missing. Period.

Wow, trust and respect are 2 major components in a relationship. If you still respect someone but lost trust that is going to be hard. Because without trust, then you will always have resentment against that person. Whatever that mistake was that he did will always be in the back of your mind and you have to ask yourself if your willing to forgive that person.
