I agree that there is harm using torrent as the files that uploaded are all not verified. So there are chances of some viruses getting on to the system through these downloaded files. Torrent is safe when you download it from a verified source that is you can see a tick mark when you search for something on torrent. If you download something from a verified source then there is no issue with it. I think those viruses that are been detected might from some sites they might have come while you were browsing.
