I'm going to go for a villian, Khan. Aside from the obvious, that Ricardo Montalban was an extremely attractive man, the way the character developed from the original series to the movie was really interesting.

You can say that just about any chracters. If you watched the movie, "First Contact", towards the end when captain orders the crew to stand their ground against borg. When they voiced their opinion but captain basically ignores them. There is one scene when doctor Bev Crusher was speaking to the woman, doctor says, "Once the captain has made up his mind, that's it. We have to carry out his orders." That sounds pretty much like mindless drone to me, except for the difference in the way the messages are carried out. I know captain ends up changing his mind after all but the whole concept that the federation was founded on "following orders no matter what" type of attitude, I don't see too much of difference in the 2 races. If you take klingon, you have to kill your superior to move up in ranks. Also, in real life psychology, there's a theory involving "crowd psychology". It states where if you take an individual & put him in a crowd, majority of the people will follow & do what the crowd does when they wouldn't do the samething by themselves. But hey, it's just a tv show. I don't try to take it so seriously. I'm sure there are a lot of flaws & little things that people can pick at if we all wanted to really get into it.

Oh, by the way, you forgot a chracter called, "Hue" on one of the tv series. Also after that episode, there has been few episodes in "TNG" that good number of borg have been freed from the hive. They gained their entire individualities & acted on their own mind.

Well I'm a trekkie from way back (but I'm not that old though). I began watching the original Star Trek (the late sixties) when my pop bought some DVD's. I will agree that it is quite dated in this day and age but back then I really enjoyed it. We even had a couple of the actors come to a trekkie show we had in our city years ago. Scotty and Sulu were the two that came and I actually met Scotty and to my horror the local newspaper snapped my picture and it hit the front page of the newspaper.
I occasionally watch the reruns but not that often anymore. Sometime I tune into Star Trek voyager on the space channel and don't mind that one too much.

My favorite charcter is Juan-Luc Picard. He is much more moral then other star trek captains.I do not say that others have lack of morality but Picard is the best after Picard my favorite charscter is Data then Garak from deep space nine and Tuvok. If someone wants to download deep space nine season 5 go to warezforum and you will found it there.

I agree. Of all characters I would have to say that Data is my favorite. Not just the character, but Brent Spiner does such an amazing job playing both Data and Lore. He is one of my favorite actors. And Guinan next up because of her wisdom and mystery, not to mention that I also like Whoopi's acting. My third (I know I'm finishing up here) would be Jonathan Archer from Enterprise, his character is just so appealing the way that he is bold yet not stupid, I've always liked Scott Bakula.

Easy one for me, Captain Kathryn Janeway, the perfect captain, I like the concept of a female captain, and out of all the Star Trek franchise, for me Star Trek Voyager is by far the best of them all. I like the actress who plays her too.

As it's been said, that's a pretty hard question to answer. If nothing more than just the fact there have been so many main characters on the series over the years. But if I had to pick my #1 favorite, I think I'd go with Captain Picard. Q would be up there somewhere too of my top five I think.

That is kind of difficult, because there are quite a few. I liked Data and Jordie in Next Gen and Bones in the original series, but I think my overall favorite would have to be Spock.

Not too hard of a question...I am a Captain Kirk fan myself. I did not grow up with him but as a teenager watching the reruns I would say Captain Kirk. The Original Series was my introduction into the world of Star Trek and that show and Kirk became my favorites.
