I just saw a repeat performance of this young girl, now 17 years old, singing "If I wrote a Note to God" and was again just blown away with her magnificant voice. This link is from her perfornace on Oprah. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4Xd435coD4&feature=related Then I found this one of her singing it but the lyrics are on the screen and I really thought these lyrics are perfect at this time for our world!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGgpkVwVoQM Your opinion?

Sad to say Charice was snubbed here in the Philippines she is not that popular here compare to the US. She told the media that Filipinos are hard to please because her voice is very common. Their are many aspiring singers are better than her so to speak. In the US it is new to them to see and heae a small girl singing adult songs with high notes. Here in the Philippines we have many singers and I think it is in our blood, we love music and we love to sing. She is now rich and because of her popularity in the US. I watched her with Celine Dion her performance was praise by the viewers and they gave her standing ovation. We are very proud for her achievement because her success is also our success.

I am just glad at least we have the opportunity to hear her and that she did not just fade into oblivion as I suspects happens with all the other singers whom you say are better than Charice. I thought her performance with Celine ( my favorite female singer) and Andrea Bocelli (my favorite male singer) were fantastic!

We all know her. her name is CHarice Pempengco from the Philippines. It all started in the star magic contest here within a local network, but they didn't choose her as champion, yet they choose the good looking guy. then, the big leap came in after Ellen saw her in the Youtube participating in a show in South Korea. then, after she started singing in her show, Oprah saw this too and invited her. As a Filipino I am very proud of her because her talent gave pride to my people. i heard she also sing Star Spangled Banner in other events. this girl was very poor once and she had trouble getting a home..am proud of what she become, almost every Filipino in the World is proud of her...

Apart from having a wonderful voice I was really drawn to her because the first thing she did with her new found riches was to buy her mother their first home and new car
