Well I am going to right now. My son is 8 1/2 months old. And we have been working on signing with him. No he isn't deaf. But we did it with his sister and she started talking at 9 months. Now as of today my son has the signs for more, momma, daddy, milk, and eat. I think that is AWESOME. What was the last thing you felt you needed to brag about?

Honestly, I think that the only thing I ever brag about, IS my children! LOL!!! And sometimes my husband as well, when he is behaving lol. Children are just so incredible in our eyes, and just watching them learn and grow is just insanely amazing, isn't it? I am always bragging to people about how well my children are doing with their skills and abilities, just because I am so proud of my baby girls :D... The ONLY thing about what you said, that I heard problems about, has to do with a friend of mine. She has a son, and when he was younger, he didn't start actually talking until he was almost 3-4 years old, and would make sounds and "motions" with his hands for things he wanted, and never would learn how to talk, because he would motion instead. Hopefully u dont have that problem, especially since u didnt with your first!

Oh, I think it is expected for us to brag on our children. In fact, I suppose it is even good for their developing sense of self-worth. Of course, this can be taken too far but that is true of most things. I like the idea of showing signs to children. My friend, Jon, has three step-children and their mother did this quite a bit when they were younger.

Hey that is great! not alot of parents will take the time to teach a kids sign language if their kids no have a hearing impairment. I think it is great that you are. My mom said she learned when she was younger and it was easier to talk in class by sign language and since no one but her and her friends knew it they could sign away and not have no one know what they are saying..and it is great for when you are wanting to talk when others are around..I am glad he is catching on so quick and you have the right to brag all you want about your little man..he is a great kid..

That's awesome!! your kids are smart! ;) I tried that for a little while with my daughters but neither of them really caught on to it. My first didn't start talking till later then most kids, so she did some signing at 12months. signed for more and eat and mommy and daddy. She knows them all now cause i tried more with her then my second daughter. second daughter, is 18 months now, she is more interested in repeating sounds and trying to talk them repeating motions with her hands.. always has been!

Hello ersmommy. It is so good and pleasant to see every progress a baby makes in the first few years, especially. I think that this is really something that a parent has to brag for. Enjoy everything in your life, my dear friend.

Oh wow that is fantastic, I think the last thing I really bragged about was my webpage, simply because I am not really computer savvy and when I started my page i was told doing it in "word" was the easiest way, I was told a few times that I couldn't do a webpage in word but I plodded along because i could understan how to do it, I will be honest it was a bit rough at first but I kept improving and then one day I got an email from the Australian National Library requesting archival rights, I think I went into shock, I had to sign papers to give them the rights but the thought that my webpage will be preserved forever, it will still be around even long after I am gone, I did a lot of bragging....

That is truly amazing that he caught on like that. I do not know any sign language myself. I have not bragged on anything in a very long time. I am not sure what the last thing was if there was anything.
