Would you rather encourage your teens to gain some experience from work?

Some teens just want to have fun nowadays. They either stay home after school, stick to the playstation 3 for the rest of the day; or going out dillydally with a bunch of friends just horse around. Besides wasting their time, would you encourage them to get some work experience for the future? Like sign up for some volunteer work to increase their knowledge, and learn something really practical for the future? I would definitely do it, and I just want them to be prepared in terms of competition in the future.

I really thought its very appropriate. I`m not a parent yet but definitely I really think if my parents let me expose to work at my younger age it would like help me become a responsible person and at the same time help me become an independent person. I believe that we learn from experience itself so the more experience you have in work at younger age, the more you`ll know how to deal with reality and this what I`m practically living now. Good thing my parents gave a chance to this and so far so well coz I`m into facing reality right now, very challenging but one way or the other I learned a lot.

that would definitely help them gorw one way or another and would develop many good things in them. Having such experiences would teach them the realities of life, and the value of time, money, and relationships with others...
it's for their own good.

as a teen I say..NOO lol XD I'd appreciate, though, something related to life as adults, to know how to face the real world and issues.
