In part one we discussed the racism of American Lefties absolving some indiginous North American tribes of the crime of wholesale land theft... Since that can apparently only be done by White Europeans.
In this part, we'll talk about another pompous presumption commonly perpetrated by the American left. Black Reparations...
People always make this vile practice out to be a purely one sided atrocity. In the mini-series "ROOTS", the White sailors parked their ships off the African coast, cast nets over the frolicing natives, reboarded their ships and sailed off to sell their booty's booties to the anxiously awaiting Evil White Folks.
Merchant sailors haven't changed much over the centuries. Namely, they have always considered it their job to load ships, sail ships to distant destinations, and unload the cargo once they get their. Rarely in maritime history have sailors gone forth to find the stuff they were going to deliver. In fact, it was rare that anyone working on the ship (from the captain on down) owned anything in the cargo holds.
No, no, no... The ships did get parked as close to the shore as possible... preferably to some kind of docks, where the cargo was waiting for them. The sailors didn't have to go out and snag the people sold into slavery... that had already been accomplished.. by other Africans.
That begs the whole "chicken and egg" question here. Which came first, the capturing of people to sell into slavery, or the market for Black slaves? Some say it doesn't matter, but I say that's pretty pompous.
It goes to how that most inhuman of monstrosities was finally put to an end. Was it ended by Africans coming to their senses and ceasing in their slave capturing ways? Nope.
What ended it was... The market dried up.
Laws passed by evil, racist White Europeans banning the import of Africans for the purpose of selling them on the open market. This was something that devestated many economies in Africa. In fact, it was such a shock to many African nations that many of them haven't recovered.
The lack of buyers for the captured slaves was only part of the problem. Without the lucrative slave trade, many areas of Africa had little to entice ships to their shores. The ships that did frequent African ports confined their births to the ones with buyers for things being exported by evil Europeans.
Think about Africa today. What do you think would be the major export if importing slaves was still legal in countries filled with evil White Europeans? Slaves.
Why isn't open slavery a major source of income for African nations?
Because the market was destroyed.. by Evil White Europeans.
So, in actual reality, without reaching or exaggerating anything at all... What is the American left demanding?
They are demanding "reparations" from the decendants of the very people who freed countless generations of decendants of Africans.
Reparations is Racism.

There's a truth they refuse to face. Slave existed in Africa long before the first white man set foot on its shores.

I was traveling out west this summer and we stopped in at a historical site and there was a map of the local Indian Tribes in the late 1800. I was surprised to see the Chippewa listed because I grew up in the East and was taught they were an Eastern Tribe. How did they get the land out west. It was not from the government because their reservation is now in Wisconsin. They got the land by fighting and taking it away from some other tribe. When they do it is OK but when the White Man did it is was wrong? I agree you can not go back and undo history. We should move forward as one nation.

Exactly.
I don't condone that way of taking land, but if it hadn't happened, none of us would be here. And I'm talking about the world in general. What if Alexander didn't conquer? What if Greeks, Romans, Persians and Mongols didn't conquer?
Moreover, as you stated, it's something that was done by Native Americans. If left alone to evolve, judging by other tribe behaviors of the world, it would still be going on to this day.
I think the trouble is people toss history aside to run wild with progressive theories of their particular utopia. The biggest problem with all these theories (that end in communism/socialism/or other disaster) is that they all judge the way everyone else did something before inevitably becoming worse(Hitler/Stalin/Pol Pot).

Thanks for having the courage point out such an important historical fact. Slavery was present on the African continent and was well ingrained in the culture as one tribe attacked or over took another. The average European didn't speak African languages, had little knowledge of African terrain. It took Africans looking to make money to capture and create an inventory of product to sell to European middle men. Demanding reparations from America is like going after a supermarket for selling meat that was raised cruelly. Going after the middle man, and doing it centuries late doesn't accomplish everything.
