This senior high school in which I am currently studying ranks No.1 in our province and will send several students to Singapore to continue their study. As state-funded, it is free of charge. Singapore pays all the schooling for the years of studying there. Of course everybody struggles to be the 'Lucky Dog' whereas the 'pick' is always secretly carried out and only a few students know it directly from the head of the grade when the 'pick' is to begin.
As is known approximately to the whole world, the college entrance examinations in China is the most difficult on earth. All students desire to escape it if they can. To be sent to Singapore means that you can really avoid it and begin your wonderful life not like those students who have to concentrate all their time and energy on GRE etc just so as to be admitted to foreign universities and then become a new immigrant.
I am really annoyed. I have missed the opportunity twice.
Abrat Darcy.

Darcy, I think every examination is difficult if we say it is! In your case, It is the system that makes it difficult not the examination per se. If I were you, I would rather apply for a student visa in other countries. You can sit other forms of English test like IELTS, TOEFL and TSE. all these are accepted to prove your English proficiency. Goodluck in test!!!

Wow! that must be really, really hard. Did you actually paid for the exams? i hope not. oh, yeah i read it's free. that must be hard, study, study and more study all the time. well, it's the new trend now a days.people want to study hard and when they get the chance to go abroad, they will choose to do so for greener pastures....

Adarcy,
From your post, it seems like there is some discrepancies in the selection process for the students in your city to study in Singapore. Did I read you wrong here?
Yet, you did mention that only top ranking students are qualified and sent to Singapore to study. I do not know where and how the shroud of secrecy in the selection has in any affected you to perceive some inappropriate conduct. I think it may be perhaps be wise that you highlight your concerns to your state's education ministry department.
I do not think luck or undesirable acts had gotten students to qualify for scholarships to study in Singapore and I hate that to happen or be true in your case. I feel that everyone will have their meritocracy to be selected and chosen. And in all fairness and spirit of positivity, if you are unsuccessful with your attempts, then maybe you may want to consider other open and available options. Scarcity is just rampant, but I am sure our adaptability isn't. It will be a matter of acceptance at your end, at the end of the day.
Have a nice day.
