hi mylotters, i have a funny question to all of you. yes, how many times you have changed your avatar in mylot and why? i have changed four times. my first one was my own photo which was not so clear. so i changed it to a face of cute cat. hahaha... again i changed it and posted my new photo. and the current one is the edited verson of that photo. so what about you? another question. what do u think about them who have not posted an avatar still they have crossed more than 500 posts. please share.... SHIBHAM

Hello my friend How are you feeling today? Well just yesterday I decided to use the picture of my daughter with our kitty, This way I can let all my friends see her and the kitty as well, eventually I may put up a pic of my grandson after that I will go back to me or me and the kitty,he is bigger now then he was in the pic, people that don't post thier pics that is fine with me, usually I would not post mine, the only reason I did was because I had the pic on the computer so I figured hmmm why not, but I don't usually add my photo I hate taking pictures anyway so I guess it depends on the individual either way it is fine with me , smoochess my friend.

I have only put one picture up for my avatar, but that is because I just figured out how to do it, heehee I think its fun to change it every so often, it keeps people alert to look for differences. But some people may not want to put up a picture, they don't want to get too personal. I can understand that as well. But nobody said they have to put a real picture of themselves, they can just put an animated picture like myself. I chose spongebob because I think he is a cute character and my kids enjoy looking at the picture when I make posts. And he has a thumbs up which is cute too. Happy mylotting!

I have never changed my avatar. I'm pretty consistent in my appearance on the internet, pretty much the same name and avatar everywhere. That way, people that know me on one site can recognize me on another if they see me.

Hi shibham, well I started life as a little green man, as so many do. With great difficulty I changed this into a photo sitting on my computer which featured a beautiful Greek village by the seas edge, but unfortunately also my son, who whilst looking extremely delightful did not really feel right about sitting around on the internet. So I went off in search of actual avatars rather than a photo, was it poor Mike or Lamb who had their work cut out for them that day in my search to find one and then mangage to put it on. So I ended up with a Greek man with a scroll but his background was too gloomy. So in search yet again I went in hot pursuit for a moving Greek avatar, and basically found this one which I now plan to keep, even though some people still ask where I live I find it goes very well with a blue star too.

Hi thea Yes, I think most of us started with green man first. So, you've changed it until 3 times before? I only know you with this nice blue avatar, and you're right, it looks good with your blue star

Hi sibham I started to make around 20 posts as a green man. Then I landed into one discussion that said avatar is important so people can notice you. That statement supported by the responders, so I immediately went to my profile page and tried to change my avatar. I couldn't do it and I felt confused when I only upload picture, not show up as my avatar. Then I send pm to one of senior member here. Thanks that she helped me. I feel lazy to change my avatar and I think this one has fit with my username. I just look at my picture's folder in my computer and found this one I never done certain search for my avatar, but found it ready to use in my computer,,hehe.. I've ever used it as avatar in my friendster account. It fits my username and I like its pink color. I found it's hard to recognize someone if he/she change the avatar. I recognize people here from their avatar. So unless I pay attention to the username or often meet them in discussion, I won't know it's the same person or not. Even with same username, I need to check his/her profile page first to make sure he/she is the same person,,hehe. So I don't have any plan to change it,,just wanna stick with this one

hi there. i also started to 20 as a green man. yes i think people can understand a person through the avatar, whatever it is. but if u put your own picture then it is enough. according to your user name, the avatar is reasonable. but i dont know what chrysan mean and is it same to the name of that flower? nice dicision at last. thanks for response. lol,..

Thanks Yes, Chrysan is the flower name used in my country. It is same with chrysanthemum,,but here we rarely say its long name, Only in certain drink product usually the manufacturer write that flower's true name.

I just changed my avatar twice. I don't want to change my avatar often because I am not sure my friend can recognize me right away:) Perhaps they will start to recognize me after some time. I think it's better to have an avatar because it will leave people impression. I don't understand why some people have lots of posts here but they still use the default avatar. I think probably they are too lazy to upload their own avatar. I love China

I'm not a person who changes avatars a lot. I think I got two or three of them in my three years career here on mylot. I used to have my own picture as an avatar but I decided to put id down:P Asfor people who desn't add an avatar and have 500 posts or more, well it'stheir decision, right? Maybe they don't feel a need to do it. Plus they're still recognized because of their usernames so I guess it's alright.

Hi pompon. I am 100% agree with u. In case of changes there should be some reasonable conditions, otherwise its odd. But i think green man gets less response than others. Its my own view, may not be similar to others. Thanks a lot. Take care

Unlike social networking sites like face book or Orkut, here a constant avatar is more of a value because people recognize you mostly with your pic than your name. Hence I feel the need of a constant avatar

Hi Shibham... you know what i have never changed my avatar and i know i will never change it, call me old fashioned but i love my avatar and that is how i like myself to express with here, m glad i got the right avatar at the starting itself and that was around 3 months ago... and i will never change it... and this is how i want other people to recognize me as.... well talking about the old fashioned way as you might be thinking about me... sometimes when my friends change the avatar i get confused for a moment.... now look my friend kitty changed her photo and initially i thought she was some one else but the name rang a bell in my head!.... lol.... hmmm well i think all should put some or the other avatar coz i don't like to see the default avatar... it seems like all are one...HEHE.... but yeah if they keep anything but the default one then it is fine with me.... i don't think too much about avatars actually.... have a nice day shibham!

Hi there, i never say you as old fashioned. It is everyones choice about to put an avatar. U may not put your own picture but there should be a meaningful one. I dont support continuous changes of it when i need i change. Thanks for response.

Hi Shibham, Discounting the default avatar I have not yet changed mine. I was going to change it a few days ago to a picture of me, so I could join the small legion of mylotters that have themselves as their avi's. But when the time came to do it I decided that I was way too attached to my current avatar to change it, and so I put the picture elsewhere instead so people could still see me if they wanted to. I think I would feel odd having myself as my avatar each me I posted something lol. Normally my themes change with my obsessions, so whenever I get obsessed with something again the avatar will probably change to reflect that All the best, Dranz

I have been with myLot for about three years or so and I have had the same avatar the whole time LOL!! I've just really never felt the need to change it. I liked it initially and, when I'm logged in, I'm either reading and posting in the discussions or doing tasks so I really don't think about my avatar.

Well, the online dictionary defines an avatar as "an incarnation in human form" or an "electronic image that represents and is manipulated by a computer user." I think my image qualifies on both counts, lol! Besides my hand on my hip and the other details of the photo say a lot about me. Look at it at the larger size.

This is the only Avatar that i had since I renew myself after 3 months of unexpected leavefrom this website. i have tried other kinds of avatars but somehow this is the only avatar that suits me well. some people don't care about avatars at all and instead they just keep on posting until it reaches to a higher level
