Today it was announced that Youtube would start showing music videos to viewers in the UK after coming to an agreement about how much the artists should get paid. Do you ever use youtube to watch music videos?

Of course I do! I thnink youtube is the best source for music videos, snippets of tv shows an live concerts. With music videos it's great because they don't show the older ones too much. But I was angry when I went one day on youtube and I wasn't able to watch something I was looking for because it wasn't permitted for my location. I don't get it, why they need to do it:/

Well they have to obey the laws of differing countries so sometimes some videos are not available in certain locations. For example official music videos were not able to be viewed in the UK until this new decision happened yesterday. It is annoying but that is the way things are.

Do they not show music videos in the UK on You Tube? I use You Tube for mainly for looking up old 80's music videos. I love it when I can find the original music video (the ones I used to watch), but quite often I find video pieces or montages that people put together. I don't buy a lot of music, so just to hear the music makes me happy. I know artists like Prince don't allow any videos on You Tube - that's too bad because he's really popular. Hope you get to see the videos in the UK soon!

They used but then they had a dispute with the record companies over how much money should be paid for showing them. However they have come to an agreement now so they are returning for viewers in the UK.
