why is that alwys the less privileged in our society always have to be the people who are working so hard? look around and you will notice that its the poor who continue to make the rich become more richer and them they become even more poorer.
look at people like bill gates or waren buffet, they are so rich and they work so little and earn alot as compared to their employees who have to work extra hours to make ends meet. they report to work in the morning and leave very late and if they absxcond duty they will be sacked and the rich if they absent themselves no one will sack them. what a waste full life or is the nature that created things that way? umh! food for thought. what are your opinion you guys?

Yes, there is a huge divide between rich and poor. But I don't think you can say the poor work and the rich don't - sometimes the poor DON'T work and thats why they are poor, and sometimes the rich have worked really hard to get rich.
I would come under reasonably poor now I guess, I have debts from medical bills, I was laid off and have been unemployed about 7 months, I often have not enough money to buy food.
But I originally came from a pretty well off family, and we were judged sometimes by those less well off 'oh we must be THOSE sort of people because we're rich'. As an 8 year old I got abuse yelled at me in the street by other kids because of my private school uniform. What they didn't know is that we were in that position because my Dad worked for years getting up at 4am, my Mum cleaned other peoples houses and then went to school at night to learn to get a better job - years of work and saving. But people would just see us in that moment of time and go 'ah, they don't what is is to work or be poor ' or whatever.
Inverted snobbery, I call it.
Having said that, I came to this country believing that American thing that anyone prepared to work hard enough can bring themselves up. I don't know if I believe that anymore. I think it is very hard to rise above your status here, and very hard to overcome the stigma of being poor, and the cycle that doesn't allow you to get a step up. I am at the endof myrope already and then last night I found out because of our insurance changing some things my prescriptions are DOUBLING in price and I can ONLY get them through their own mail order provider. If I go to the pharmacy I am going to now I will have to pay the full amount, no insurance. I don't know how anyone ever gets out of a hole or out of debt here.
So if anyone is feeling they are doing their best and drowning while the rich swan about on the golf course, I do understand...lol

At one time, the US was a place where anyone, from any country, could come and make a good living. Our country has enjoyed great financial status in the past, but we are now paying the price for years of bad decisions, bad politics, declining morals, and declining work ethic. It is unfortunate that the numbers of poor continue to rise, and will probably continue to do so, given the decisions being made by our government. Our economy has gotten to the point where one can work 20 hours a day and still not prosper. The money just isn't there anymore. I don't know where all of this will take our country, but I don't think we will end up better for it all.

I agree. The U.S. is certainly not fair. The Rich are usually the ones you see on TV that do nothing and complain about being bored or not getting the right latte while the poor are the ones who can't find a job because the rich people running the government screwed up. The poor are suffering for their mistake and instead of putting money into the economy to help the poor the rich people have decided to stay greedy and not help out at all.

Hmm,It is pretty big subject you have touched. Do you in life we have many things which are in circular form. I think Poverty and richess comes in a circule, they both are sides of two coins. In society it can not happen like all the people are of same economic level. It is totally dependent n the work you do in life. Its all about how hard and smart you have worked in your life.Writing about Mr. Bill Gates and Mr. Warren Bufet They must have done massive hard work in their early times. Mr. Bill Gates is helping poor peiple he has worked a lot for poor in India So he is not just a businesman but a good humen being If all of us Desite to be a good humen being then it ll really help to fill the GAP betwin "POOR" and "RICH"

The rich get richer while the poor get poorer as the old saying goes.
I've been poor all my life...it encourages me to dream and keep working towards goals and pray. I think maybe you're born into it for a certain reason..a lesson to learn. But that is just my opinion. And..I also believe that you can change your destiny-With hard work and perserverance :)

Hello,
Yes of course, life is a huge struggle for the poor. They can't even afford their own food, and yet some people are complaining that they don't have a Ferrari as their main car, while other people in the world are dying. Make sure you have a good day, God bless and Happy Lotting!!

not really, some of those who are in the position are coming from the less fortunate family. but they struggle to and work hard to have a good life. yes its true that rich become more richer but poor can't be more poorer if they will do something for their life, its not because they are poor they will just do nothing only because they know they can't instead of striving to attain their goals in life.

Yes I have noticed that the rich people get away with more stuff then the poor people do. What I cant figure out though is how in our state that people live. You can drive down the road and see a huge $500,000 home and right next door will be an old run down mobile home. So it's strange, normally you see the rich living in a different area then the poor but here they can live right next door to each other.

hello mcowiti,
i don't think so. for as long as you are positive reaching your goal, nothing is impossible. some rich people came from scratch like the owner of SM. he was once a janitor and now he owns a bank/s and a lot of business worldwide. it's a matter of hardworks at first but in the end glory.

I think it's alright for the poor to continue struggling, as long as they have a accomplishments to have even a little peace of mind. The rich maybe continouosly struggling too for other problems the poor not encountering. Everyone has to struggle in differrent aspects of life, only that the poor's struggles are very visible as it pertains to financial aspect, the rich trials however are being looked behind as as they are financially okey. Overall everyone has life's struggles for existence.

I feel that in this subject (as in many others) mankind is in an early stage of development. We human beings don´t have enough respect, tolerance or love for our kin folks. We are greedy and like power. We think we deserve more than we pprobably do.
Until we change, the world will be like it is. With the extra problem that we don´t even take care and respect our planet so that it will soon become difficult to live in, no matter how rich you are.
I have seen more generosity in very poor people and in a midle class person who despises the poor and envies the rich.

Hey mcowiti,
My hubby was just talking about this very thing. He's one of the hard workers, but it's the hard workers that never get promoted only the ones who complain all the time and don't really do their job get anywhere. Everyone who is a hard worker sees this and some decide to do the same, slack off, then somehow succeed. My hubby is not one to slack off, he just can't do it, he doesn't like to be bored, and would rather do hard work than no work. He watched while they gave a slacker a very important promotion while the really hard working guy who tried and earned the promotion was slighted. It really made him angry because he watched how hard the hard worker was working to earn the position.
It's really screwed up!!

That is a fact of life. The poor are poor for a reason and the rich are rich for a reason. Usually, educated people are not poor. They often use their minds as opposed to the poor who use their body. I have no sympathy for your argument. Poor people had the ability to go to public school. They often chose to not care and are now paying the consequences.

yeah ,it is true that the gap between the rich & the poor is getting bigger & bigger.Bill Gates has the brain & ability to be rich~so,if u really have a better knowledge you can also lead a rich life~the matter is few people can do it as thoes big wigs~
another point ,the meaning of life has nothing connecting with wealth.the real happy life is in your heart. if u have a happy family ,a job can feed ur family
u can achieve ur life"s target,u will be happy ..
if u just put money and happiness together ,u r bothering urself cause there is always someone earns more than u~
