Many countries are experiencing food shortages and it could happen even in the richest of nations. What steps have you taken if any in the event of this forseable event?

to me ,growing some vegetables or some fruits in my yard sounds like a good idea~ However ,it can not be applied to everyone~then ,others should refill their kichens and keep it a good habit~

Starting a vegetable garden is something I have been contemplating. I guess it would be wise to start now. Anyone have good suggestions on starting one?

Yes, i think me and family are prepared for this. We are lucky i think to have a small garden behind the house and my mother grow some vegetables on it like cabbages, potatoes and sweet potatoes, eggplants, and other easy to grow veggies. We also feed some chickens/poultry, around 50 (so we usually have chicken on the table and i'm fed up with it LOL!). And we are only 4 in the family so we won't easily consume the available food.^^;

I live in a village, most people have their own food supply. We can get from veggie to meat from the backyard. We only buy something that we can produce like sugar, flour and such (we still buy fish in the market as no one really like to fish them from the river) So when crisis happen before, we still have food to eat.

Am I prepared? No, not even close. I would be devastated if our country experience a food shortage, but it could happen anytime and I'm mentally prepared for that. I fear seeing ANY HUMAN BEING fight for food. I would give mine up for many people! I wish there was or possibly is a way for us to work together when/if this happens.
