Fix...

Hm, I should go find the photo and post it. Can't right now, not at home. Anyway, you know the tradition of the bride at a wedding throwing the bouquet? All the single females line up, the bride turns her back and tosses the bouquet blindly. The person who catches it is supposed to be the next one to get married. Well, I freely confessed that I fixed the result at my wedding. When everybody was all lined up, I turned around and threw it straight to my sister. She caught it too! My cousins started yelling, "fix, fix." lmao Did you ever make sure something would get the result you wanted by *ahem* cheating a little bit?

On a wedding of actor and actress i saw, the bride use a slingshot to throw the bouquet. I think it's more accurate. :)

as long as I'm not aiming at men, that might work...

More accurate, probably, but do you really want to risk taking somebody's eye out?

lol... I've been to a a couple of weddings and people were pushing me forward - because I was about the oldest single woman there - and I told them, as I was being pushed forward, that if it came to me, I'd let it hit me and fall to the ground before I caught it - they let up - never caught one, let someone else catch them

At our wedding, I didn't throw the bouquet, and my husband didn't do the garter thing. I had a bouquet but my husband no garter. Of course, it wasn't a traditional wedding, that and there was only a few single people there...

About the best I can come up with is putting a little whipped cream over the cake that fell apart. I even added sprinkles. Got great koudos for that one.

I got a joke e-mail on that topic after this was posted. The Little White Lie Cake: New lady in town volunteers to make a cake for the church bake sale. But she's running late and the cake falls. So she stuffs it with toilet paper, frosts it and sends it to the church with her daughter who has instructions to buy it right away and bring it back. Well somehow, the snootiest lady in the church snaps it up without it going up for sale. The next day the new lady goes to a party at the snooty lady's house and is just mortified because there is the cake ready to be served for dessert. Well people start complimenting her on how beautiful the cake is. That's when the hostess says, "I baked it myself". The lady who really made the cake smiles and thinks to herself, "God is good."

Too funny! :) My best friend tried to throw her bouquet to me at her wedding, but her 14 year old niece was really pushy, and ended up snagging it from me.

this is quite funny . well i have not done so. i dont remember being in any situation where i will have the say as to whom to give something on another person. but i may do that in case, for example in some game or contest or whatever the occasion is. like i may favor one person over another person and will make sure that the person i like to get it will get it.

Was that a cheating? Ahh, I don't think so. What if some other person took the place of your sister, or what if others could catch that bouquet or what if she couldn't catch that! Even if it was fixed from your side but you never know!

I was really having fun reading your description. First of all I would like to congratulate you for your wedding. For the question you have raised. Well I can't say that I've tried it because everytime I try to cheat and have things to go my way every thing don't fall to places where they are suppose to be. So I stay away from that.

lol....good for you! Sisters have got to stick together...! I don't think I actually threw my bouquet, although it wasn't a kind of compact one but more holding long stemmed roses so it wouldn't have thrown well...lol The only way in which I may have, um, cheated is that in my degree, which was in Drama, I did one course called Dramatic Adaptation, where were were supposed to take a novel or a poem or whatever and adapt it to become a theater piece. I wrote the theater piece and then wrote the poem and said it was 'Anonymous'. Ahem!(I was still adapting a poem though...kinds....!)

I had a separate bouquet for the throwing, didn't throw my actual one! Your own poem? Well if you had written it first, I would have given you extra credit for that, but writing it afterwards, hmmm...

Of course everyone cheats a bit to get the results they want. Although I think in this situation it's a little mean to throw it directly at your sister. She might be feeling a bit bad about being unmarried now that you are and that just emphasizes her single status. It's great that you want your sister to get married but there are reasons that she's not and she might not be proud of that.

Oh no, she was younger and with a new boyfriend and they got married a year later, so that was OK.
