Do you prefer to sleep at Night, Midnight or in the morning? There are many people who prefer to stay online or do some other work through out the night & sleep somewhere in the early Morning.Even though there are some minor health issues, people prefer to do what they like to do. Some may read something, many stay online, many prefer to do some work until its early morning. What about you?

Funny that I encountered this discussion when I have been staying up all night for the past couple of weeks. I now usually work/write from midnight until 5 a.m.
I would only stop to prepare breakfast for my kids before they go to school. Once they've boarded the school bus, that's the time I'd get some sleep and will wake up past noon.
After a late lunch, I'll start working again until the kids come home from school.
And so my days and nights go ...
BTW, its 4:16 am on my computer clock. I'm due to cook breakfast and the kids' packed lunches about an hour from now.

Thanks. I'm actually a work-at-home mom who contributes articles for several publications here in my country (the Philippines). I find that I am more creative when the house is quiet and no sounds outside encroach on my concentration.
My kids' school bus arrives at 6 a.m. That's why I have to get them ready early. They have to be in school by 7 a.m. for the flag ceremony before formal classes start at 7:30 :)

This seems an interesting schedule for a housewife, especially a mother. I really have to say that you have found a nice way & timings to handle things properly. I wonder why you are preparing the food so early if they are going to school by 8? because once my mother used to get up at 6 to prepare food.

Oh so early, because in my place the school starts at 9.30 & will be till 3.30pm. Its good to know that you make some contribution towards your family earnings. For me, getting atleast $100 per month would have been great. But Still I'm looking for ways to do it.
Have a nice time & all the best for some nice Articles

For the last 2 months, i am not sleeping well at night. Reason, i quit my job and having a lay off before my move to next step. I got an internet connection as well and so, i mostly used to stay online. sometimes i may work photoshop, sometimes i will be editing videos, then and then, daily i will be in mylot too atleast for reading discussions even if i don't respond. I will sleep anytime by 3 to 4, whenever i wish and may get up by 8 to 10am, it depends. rarely 6 or 7.
But sure.. no days sleep at all..
Have a nice time!

Haha.. so nice!!!
Good morning!
Taz,
I always wish to do what i like. I always hate those routines who says complete school studies.. finish a degree. immediately join a job, then do a marriage, etc., etc.,
Who created these routines? Is there any rules for us that life should be lived in this way?
I dont like or even hear if any of my relations push me to do something.
When nobody said me to go job, i had went and that too for nearly 2 years, where i worked for 1 and half years without leave on sundays. Now when i am in off, really got great benefit in refreshing my mind. i had planned what to do next in a perfect way. sure, i will start my next projects from october, slowly and steadily. Till that, I wish to live in the way, I like. I hate that routine life!
When we know we are not going in a wrong route, we dont want to mind any peoples excepat our family and those peoples who really care us, even not a part of our family!

I do agree that working in shifts can make you sleep go haywire. Even I worked for a call center where there was night shifts & I think I got the habit of staying awake at night from there.

I sleep at night, in the morning, and even during the middle of the day. I don't have a set routine. It changes from day to day. My work schedule calls for me to be there whenever they need me.

Oh man! You really seems to have a tiring work schedule. I really can't think of sleeping at different times on different days!! If you have a sleep continuously for atleast a week, then also its comparatively fine.

Hi Taz,
I always sleep at night. If I am wanting to stay up I can normally manage to reach about 3AM before my internal body clock stops me functioning and forces me to go to sleep regardless of what I planned. About the only times I have managed to remain awake through the entire night have been when I am on the PS2 with my brother because my mind is too stimulated to fall asleep. That said after about 7AM I am normally akin to a zombie so I don't do that too often lol! Recently, despite sleeping through the night, I have started to sleep in the afternoons because I just seem to start shutting down anyway. It annoys me though as I hate wasting daylight hours since it is when I am most productive, but I have started spending till 2AM on mylot so I think my body clock is getting revenge against me lol. Luckily I don't have any other commitments at the moment so it doesn't matter, but I don't want to make that a normal thing lol!
All the best,
Dranz

If its not a habit to stay awake all through the night, then your body may not always listen to you. After all its good that you are atleast sleeping by 3, where as I wont even get sleep till 5 or 6.

I know it's very unhealthy, but I find that I am more capable of completing my work when I'm sleepy, or right before my ideal bedtime...

I have a regular job which is in daytime.
I have had a second job which is in nightime.
But even when I lost my second job about a year ago,
I have to sleep at night,
But remain online until midnight,
So I can still earn something,
To add to my own funds.

HI Taz,
I cannot wake up for a long time. i prefer to sleep in night because my body doesn't allow me to work in night and sleep in the morning. However i do nightshift in job , here i am helpless to deny nightshift but in night duty , always feel sleepy all day even after sufficient sleep. My night sleep cannot fulfill requirement of day sleep. I feel only satisfied if sleep at night. You can say i am biologically adjusted with night sleep.
But i think you wake up and online for a long time. i have observer you were online up to early morning. You should say about you first in your discussion. have a sweet evening!!

YOu are different person. I checked one day that you responded very early so i thought how one person can wake up early directly site in front of computer, only person who wake for a long time can respond to discussion. Are you doing job in call centre? Because you have specified that due to job in night shift you prefer to sleep early in the morning.
You are totally different than me. Only few day i can be like you not for a long time. have a nice day!!

Ya I really don't have the habit of sleeping at night & I sleep around 7-8 in the morning. From childhood, I used to sleep late after midnight because of studies & when I got a job, because of night shifts & also because of my friends who always party around in pubs & other places, I got the habit of not sleeping at Night. Even there are days when I skip my sleep, so there is no sleep for a day!!.

YA I used to work with a call center during my college days & then I was working in aviation industry & there too was night shifts & now that I'm sitting at home just to take rest for a month or so before going for the next assignment
Before I became active on this site, that was some 2-3 weeks before, I used to hangout with friends during the night. Now because of this swine flu, night clubs & parties are not so active & hence I'm online, or else I would never had time for all these.

Sleeping in night is natural thing. But if you overcome on your sleep then you can be yogi. Yogi people dont sleep in night they do sadhana. When other general public sleep. They do chanting, meditation on brahman. You may not know all this things, then you need to read spiritual practices books from Indian Yogies.

I like that but usually people who cares about life don't sleep at early night. Ya I know that in villages people do sleep by 8 or 9, but that's not the world. In real world, people struggle to complete their work, studies or even have entertainment by going online or going out with friends for parties or movies. So once you become flexible, you are now capable of adjusting your timings for a successful life

It's been going on for a year now that i haven't got a regular sleep. I used to sleep at night around 9 or 10 but now even at 3:00 or 4:00 am I am still alive and kicking. It started when i had my first laptop computer which i use inside my room. Internet is addicted especially if you have the control of the computer and if you are making money online. We have a shared desktop in my house and it's first come first use basis. Now i am very much free, so sleeping late at night or early in the morning is becoming routine.

I love to see changes around me but I myself prefer to be the way I am. My old friends always used to tell me that I have never changed. Ya even though my experience with life increases & the ability to handle situation increases, inside my heart, I remain the same.

Sleep is indeed a problem for me.
I know of the various benefits of sleep, and how it's important in many ways, from growth to basic brain functions, yet I feel it is a gigantic waste of my time. Too many nights have I found myself engaged in an activity, be it Online or away from the computer, only for my mind to suddenly remind me that I need to sleep soon, before it's too late to receieve the proper benefits it has to offer.
Maybe if I'm older, and my body has stopped fully developing, then I won't be troubled by such matters, yet until then, I'll just have to post-pone whatever activity I'm dealing with until the morning.
The strange thing is, no matter how much or how little sleep I have, I find that I awake no later than 7:30 AM every day. How certain friends of mine can throw away an entire day by snoozing in bed is beyond me.

I am a night owl but I still prefer to be sleeping at night more than any other time (though it's hard to do that and I am still trying to sleep early if I can) It's a big different in satisfaction when you sleep at night. Plus no matter how you try to cover up at day, it will not be the same as sleeping at night.

So I hope you won't over sleep in train & miss your destination

I do agree that night time is the best time to study because you can concentrate due to the silence & lack of disturbances. That's the reason why many students prefer to study at night, but not till morning because of the college/school timings
