I have been given a chanllege by my doctor to loose 75 pound over the next 10 months. It all started with me loosing 60 pound while i was carrying my son. I could not eat bread, red meat, pasta or anyting with a whole lot of grease. after a while so I would not get hungery I would eat two veggies with a mean just so I would get full. well I think I will have to go back to how I was eating. I want to be healthy and so far I am but my weight may be an issue later so this could help me. I love salad. Greek salad is my favorit with the bacon, egg, cheese... ohh. Or I also enjoy this salad call and Ann Marie summertime salad. In the ann Marie Summertime salad its large steams shrimp with mayo, celery, onions and romain lettuce. Served with it is cantalope, and fresh blue cheese and fetta cheese crumbles all over, grape tomatos and red oinon. It one of my favorits. with me eatting more veggies saldas are going to be what saves me. so tell me some of your favorits salads and what all they have in then so that i can eat a different salad once in a while. Thanks

It would be excellent for me to lose 75 pounds in ten months. I like salad, but it always tastes best in the summertime though. I think I would have trouble giving up pizza and hamburgers. Today I had a hamburger at McD's, but I had apple slices instead of fries. I like Greek salad as well, and chef salad. It hiknk my favorite was antipasto.

I am a big guy and not into salads at all. I have recently started trying to eat a salad once a day. I put onions, lettuce, carrots, celery, chick peas, and nuts if possible. If I have a hard boiled egg, I love adding that. Egg in a salad is truly amazing.

I try to stick to just veggies on salads, sometimes cheese. Unless of course I am eating a chicken Ceasre salad, I do love a good chicken ceaser Salad. I don't eat the croutons though because the are often baked with butter. But I like shredded carrots, peas, peperocinis. If I am in the mood I will put broccoli or cucumbers on my salad, I am not always in the mood for those though.

I never really think about broccoli. I did have the idea to try snap peas, romain lettuce and califlower as a salad.

I like my salads with just lettuce and dressing, I don't really care for all that other stuff, I just want some lettuce and some dressing, I always tell them at restuarants don't garnish my salad, just give it to me with dressing, If it is a premade type of thing with stufff in it I will still eat it, but I prefer it plain.

My compliments on your loss so far! I need to lose weight, but nothing seems to have worked for me so far. I love salads! My favorite is a recipe I found on CopyKat.com (a great resource). I changed the Simon & Seaforts Spinach Salad to be "mind", and it is very filling. It uses hard boiled eggs, yellow mustard, cider vinegar, a little sugar, and I add lots of fresh mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, slivered almonds, and any other fresh veggies that I have on hand. What you do is slice 3 hard boiled eggs in half, take out the yolks and mash the yolks only in a small bowl. Add some mustard, vinegar and a little sugar. That's the dressing. Slice the whites, put on top of a large bowl of fresh baby spinach, and add the rest. You'll want to eat this fresh, because it doesn't really keep for long. It's the best I've ever tasted! I hope you enjoy it!

Caesar salad is a good mainstay, plain or with added chicken, shrimp or steak. You can skip the bread croutons and make eggplant croutons. Tuna, chicken, and egg salad are easy and can be varied, e.g. add curry powder to mayo, add tarragon to mayo, and add fruits (raisins, craisins, peaches, bananas, etc.) There is also a bread salad called panzanella. A good mixture of greens is great, including fresh spinach. There are many variations of spinach salad, with bacon, egg, onion or scallion, mushrooms and different dressings, sweet or savory. Cobb salad is good, with bacon, chicken, egg and avocado and blue cheese. Roasted beet and goat cheese salad is nice. You can add beets to any greens salad, also artichokes, avocado, asparagus, hearts of palm, olives, nuts, raisins, craisins. A "russian salad" is made of many chopped veggies, including potatoes and carrots, dressed with mayo. Oh, yes, and the many potato salads, adding eggs, veggies, etc. There is a restaurant here that serves two complimentary salads together that make a meal - romaine with roquefort (or blue cheese) dressing and red cabbage with vinaigrette. There are many types of Greek salads, with or without cheese, some just tomato, cucumber and onion. Waldorf salad has apples, celery, walnuts, grapes and/or raisins, etc. Coleslaw and cabbage salads can be made many ways. Carrot-raisin salad is healthy. There are seafood salads, like crab louie, shrimp and lobster salad; cold meat salads like antipasto also have veggies, pickled, mostly. There is also olive salad. Salads come in so many variations and from so many cultures.

Hello! My favorite is a good chicken ceasar salad with the nice homemade cutons or a good steak one with garlic bread and lots of cheese. That though is many cals and I kinda only treat myself with that.Usually, When I eat out I get a salad with all the norm veggies and add in bacon and cheese . I love ranch , but can only have so much or all my cals will be used up . The prob has always been the dressing so I have learned to use very little or go light which isnt that bad. You can always try a spinich salad with feta cheese and a dressing (red sweet kind) A 2 cup with 3 tsp of feta and a light dressing will only run you about 150 cals if not less.

i just like to have any greens on my salad. and little of olive oil. no mayonnaise not unless it is made from olive oil. as much as possible no cheese or just a little of it and some little amount of dressing only. i want to add some boiled egg too. but i don't want to use the greens each time. i want to have different combination.

Just a lot of leaves, few crunchy veggies, olive oil and Thousand Islands dressing. That would do much. Especially when I'm about to watch home movies.

Greek salad is also one of my favorites. I love colorful dishes and greek salad meets that requirement. I don´t usually have shimp as it´s too expensive for my budget. But I love to add avocados, peppers and olives to a nice lettuce salad. Cheese and chives helps too. I also use lots of oregano and basil when it´s fresh in the market.

I like to use bistro salad as a base as it has shredded beetroot in. I add cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, green pepper, flagelot beans and then add fat free vinaigrette. Top with sliced new potatoes and cold meat and finish with grated cheese. I had a nice one from the supermarket too. Grated carrot with diced red pepper and sweetcorn, topped with pasta and mayonnaise with grated cheese over.

I love kale and anything green and leafy. Cucumbers, grapes and anything that adds moisture and water to the salad is awesome. Dried fruit and nuts are great additions. I just go through the produce department and anything that looks good goes in. A good quality dressing is essential, I like straight olive oil and vinegar. I stay away from the cheese and other fatty toppings.

I love vegetables very much. For me a perfect salad needs to have tomatoes and lettuce. The more veggies the better. I don´t eat mayo a lot. Having the salad with good rice and beans I am more than satisfied.

Hi! I like just a plain green salad with onions, cucumbers, tomato, egg, cheese, sprouts, chow mein noodles, bacon bits, and a small amount of salad dressing on it, with pickled beets on the side. To me the more vegies i can add to my salad the better i like it. I have not tried to many pasta salads so i could not give any ideas on that subject.

I love variety when it comes to salads, otherwise a salad diet can get boring real quick! I think it was Martha Stewart who called salads with too many vegetables in it "kitchen sink salad" . . . and I believe I've heard her say the simplest of salads allow you to savor the ingredients. I have to have protein in every meal, so a protein like boiled eggs or chicken is a must have in my salads. Vegetables alone will make you hungry again sooner, so it's always good to have a bit of protein in your salad. I love a little bit of cheese too . . . monterey jack, colby jack, cheddar, mozzarella. Onion always makes the salad too - red onion has a good bite as well as some sweetness. I also like salads with different international tastes - like Mexican taco salads or Chinese chicken salads. And as they say, go for a rainbow of colors in your salads - every color has different benefits - and it looks pretty too!!

I love salad and it's a great way to cut down calories and lose weight. Unfortunately though lots of salads you can make actually contain loads of calories, but calling them a salad makes you think they are still healthy. Salads with lots of cheese, oily dressings, mayo or meat can be very unhealthy. I love to eat salads with vegetables such as carrots, beetroot, onion and celery in them. Also you can make lovely salad dressings using a little wholegrain mustard and balsamic vinegar.
