If one day, when you take taxi, you find the black bag on the backseat, you are curious and open the bag carefully, to see there are dozen of one-hunderd banknote, about ten thousand dollars, in the enconomy recession today, one thousand is a big help, what will you do? Don't move the money, work as nothing happened? Call the police? Tell the driver ans ask if the money is his? If this thing happens on you, what about your choice, welcome to talk about.

Hello, a good question. If I caome into such a situation what will I do? I think I will do this. The person who has forgotten to take his money must also have hard to earn that money. So I will ask the driver to recollect who all travelled in his taxi that day and try to recollect. I may inform to thenearest policeman available and ask the driver to seek his help. Happy mylotting

I admit, I will take the money. Amid sitiation like this, every penny is really really worth it, and when you get free money, why don't you take advantage of this situation. Yes, I know it is morally wrong, but when a free monney is placed in front of our eye, the tempation is too hard to be resisted.

I would take the money. I would watch the news and see if anyone came forward to say they lost it. But normally, anyone walking around with that kind of money that is riding in a taxi, probably didn't make it legally!

hi lcainiao Because it is in a black bag its either money of'a bank or wealthy business man or else its stolen money.in anycase the bills are probably marked and you would get in trouble if you kept them and tried to use them, no go to the police and tell them where you found'the money.that is the best and safest way to do

at first impulse, i would like to keep the money but never had i kept something that is not mine in my whole life. i would rather give it to the radio stations who have lots of ways to find the owner. they liaise with government agencies to help them return left items to the true owner. i would request the radio station to broadcast it over the airways until the rightful owner comes out with a valid identification from documents he presents and maybe, the driver's identification (sometimes taxi drivers remember the faces of some of their passengers). identification would be easy if there are documents inside the bag to support this matter.

and may i add, i always believe in karma. i believe that there is a bad price for keeping a recovered item... in this case, it is a very huge amount which, i am sure, the owner badly needs. there are a lot of cases where where taxi drivers return left items in the taxi. some are duly recognized by the government for their honesty and rewarded. i am sure there are those who keep them too (i left a bag containing an umbrella and a new piece of clothing, he could have returned it to me as i disembarked in front of our gate... well, maybe the next passenger must have taken it for himself though)

I would most certainly keep the money. As you said, we're in a recession, and yeah that sucks for whoever lost the money but lets be honest, they should have been hanging on tight to it because that IS a lot of money. And I definitely wouldn't tell the driver because he or she would just want to keep it for themselves. This answer may make me a bad person, but I'm just being realistic!

You know I would love to say I wouldnt even be tempted, but I so would be. Right now we are so much in trouble I would truthfully probably keep it if there was no way to get caught. Even if there was a slight chance I would get in trouble at this point Id probably still try. Far from the answer I wanted to give as I have never stolen anything in my life but this is the truth.

I'd like to say I'd call the police and report that I'd found it, but I honestly doubt it. It would probably help me start college again.

Personally, I'd have a slight heart-attack at such an incredibly fortunate find, and hope that I make it to my destination with the money safely in my possession. The way I think about it, if anybody has forgotten this vast quantity of cash, then they probably (although not definitely) have too much money to the point that they have no value of it. Plus, in today's world, it would be ridiculous to inquire about who the money rightfully belongs to because, chances are, whomever you ask will dishonestly claim false ownership of the cash considering how it is such a large amount. In a situation similar to this, unless I were 100% certain who the money belongs to, I'd instantly count my blessings and be impressed at my stroke of luck. "Finders Keepers," after all ;) ~Mr. Kennedy~

I would first go to the police station and report the money missing. If no one ever claims it and its awarded to me, then i would pay my tithes and offering to my church, pay off some bills of my parents, buy my youngest son a car because my oldest has one already. The next thing is to pay my mortgage up a few months and then take a vacation and leave some in the bank.

Go into the nearest bank and tell them i found this.

i Would keep the money but not be a selfish one. First i would make sure i kept about 8 thousand due to the fact that the economy is struggling and any help is appreciated, but first and foremost, i would give the taxi driver a nice tip, considering he is in the same, if not worse, situation as I. Even though we a struggling to get by in America today, we must think that there is always someone who is worse off than we.

If there was no address or phone number or ID, i wouldn't mind keeping it to my benefit. and why would i call the police, they might accuse me of stealing and send to jail. i might as well keep it and put it in the bank

What isn't mine, will not be mine. That's what my parents taught me. So even a million were left on the backseat, I will not claim it as mine. I'll give it to the nearest police station and let them handle the rest. I can ask the taxi driver about leaving anything on the backseat and if he don't know, it's for the police to decide. I won't leave it to the taxi driver.

It is a very difficult situation. I will be hypocrite if i say I don't need it. At this time of the year where recession is at its worst, every penny counts. Asking the driver is a good idea but not exactly. The driver might pretend that he knows the person who owns the money so if you really like to give it back, might as will do the searching together to make sure he won't drive off with the bag. The best thing to do is to go to the police officers for they have resources and means to locate the owner of the bag. Now those are my best possible solutions but let's get to the point. If that happens to me, what will i do? I might get a few and surrender the remaining to the police. You know I'm bad, I'm bad, you know it! lol
