Moving to Raleigh!

I'm moving to Raleigh, NC in October, but haven't found a place to live yet. My boyfriend will be working in Cary and I am searching for an esthetician job.
I hear Cary is very expensive. What parts of town should we look at? Where should we avoid?
What are the best restaurants? What's your favorite thing to do in Raleigh?

Hopefully you have settled in nicely in Cary. Cary has expensive areas as well as less expensive areas. It is an extremely large town. They claim that CARY stands for Centralized Area for Relocated Yankees! Seems like everyone, including myself, is from up north! Happy Mylotting
