I have this sudden urge to make bagels. I'm not really happy with the recipe I have, so I'm hoping someone has a recipe that they adore and are willing to share. Also, if anyone has any tips that they have found helpful in making bagels, I'd love to hear those as well. Thanks!

Hi sehlers,
You know I really like bagels myself but never thought to make them just because they're so convenient to buy. Have you checked out the following websites? www.foodnetwork.com, www.foodtv.com, www.meals.com? That's usually where I go when I need to find a particular recipe. Sometimes they'll even have those live demo's where they're actually making a recipe. Well, I guess you could buy a cookbook, if you wanted to spend money on it, but it's just more convenient online I think. Anyway, good luck, hope you find what you're looking for. :)

I'll have to check those out. I use www.allrecipes.com a lot, but am always on the hunt for more.
Would you believe none of my cookbooks has a recipe for bagels? Argh.
I'm a geek about making stuff from scratch when I can, especially bread products. I have some bagettes in the freezer, make my own tortillas and flatbread, and am going to make some multigrain bread this weekend.
Thanks for all the websites!

Well I guess if you don't find anything interesting on the websites, and if you feel like buying a book, pick up a Jewish cooking book since you'll be sure to find a bagel recipe there, well I would think...? I usually order from Amazon myself. Good luck though.
