Oh my!! I gave a misleading title for my discussion

Dear mylotters, For once... my discussion received 30 responses than the usual 2 or 4 and I started a discussion on that discussion... and guess what.... I got zero responses, not even one soul thought of responding to the discussion and I guess the culprit is the title I gave to the discussion, which when I read now, its unclear for me also, and gives a totally different meaning than what I meant..... So mylotters have you faced this problem before, that your content is good and attractive enough but you gave a wrong title......

The title is very important because it is the first thing we see, like the packaging on any article. However it also depends on the mood of myLotters whether they will respond or not to even the most attractive title. This is another of the misteries here. One day results are completely the oppostie of those we expected while another day things are quite normal. That's all part of the fun here. Oh I believe that your zero reponse discussion has now been attended to...

It has happened to me.The content will be good & after starting the discussion I would get a better title than the one I put.The first thing which others see is the title. If its not that good then the responses will be less. But if you become more popular here no need to worry for the titles.Even if you put a,b,c,d... for all the discussions you start, you will defenitely get more responses.

Well I would think your buds have to learn to read the discussion :) The title doesn't always explain it to me, but I try to dive into all my friends discussions when I have time and see what it's all about. Sorry you got no responses!!

The title doesnt always explain, but it should be attractive enough for people to try and visit the discussion...

I've had a lot of discussions with zero responses. I blame it on the fact that my subjects, titles and discussions aren't generally interesting. Most of the time I rant and vent about things going on in my life -- I can see how that would be uninteresting to anyone but me. Some of the ones that weren't rants and vents and received no responses, I figure those ones were simply overlooked. I have so many to read that I miss most of them and figure that's probably what happens to a lot of other mylotters. Mybe that's what happened with yours -- it simply got overlooked. :)

Maybe but I still blame my title... because the subject was really interesting and everyone can relate to it.. that's why

I've actually never had a discussion with 0 responses, and haven't made a mistake on the title. However, I am positive that I have probably made a few spelling mistakes in the contents and when I reply to a discussion, cause sometimes I'm too lazy to go back and proof-read. I know you might currently feel upset that your other discussion you started doesn't have any responses, but like you said, maybe it's because the title didn't make sense or some people weren't interested in it. I wouldn't worry about it, because like I said, we all make mistakes, which means we are all human.

Even for me this is the first time I had zero responses, now I remember I added the photo of the discussion here, and I cannot find it... anyway as you said we are all humans.....

Yes we are all indeed humans and all make mistakes! Don't worry about that photo thing your talking about, it's just a photo. I like to take life as a relaxing time and feel there is no need to rush anything. If people make mistakes, I'm sure there will be many opportunities in the future to fix that mistake. All the best in the future for mylot! =D

I get very less time to be in mylot and try to make the most of it... so when I added the photo and its not there its like I have wasted the effort that's why feel so bad....

I try to be descriptive with my discussion title so I don't confuse people with the topic I am talking about. I guess if you gave a confusing title I would be less likely to respond to it too. Good Luck with your future discussions. =)

I started a small number of discussions here so I still didn´t have this kind of problem. I always prefered to read other people´s discussions and answer to them. For me is more fun to see what people get interested about to start their discussions.

O u poor dear! I too have made a lot of mistakes. I hope they don't kick me out because of this. 0 responses I think I have had a couple! Once i made a discussion and forgot to put an image. So i went back and added an image. Guess what it became 2 discussions under same heading!! Though I got 5-7 responses on both of them i was afraid i would be kicked out! Bet of luck in ur future discussions.May u rack up a 100 responses! AP

hello kanaka, Don't worry about that. All people make mistake. Zero response for your discussion is not mistake I think. Because not all people interest with our topics. That is normal. Try give a lot of relation tags to your discussion.

Hi masteronline, Why Iam so puzzled is because it is a very simple discussion about mylot and everybody can relate to it, that's why I was surprised about the zero responses, if it was a discussion specifically about an interest or belief I wouldnt be so surprised.... And thanks for your tip...
