Hearing on the news about a declaration of a national holiday because of Ka Erdy's (Head of ministers of INC or church of Christ in other countries)funeral came to me as a great surprise. I'm supposed to be elated and jumping up and down because I can enjoy an uninterrupted time to do other things rather than work. But to be having new holidays in a year from time to time seems to be weird. We as a nation is losing quite a time for education and productivity. Good things typhoons is not frequenting these days. But we are just in the middle of typhoon seasons. We do not know what will come in the coming days. Is there really a need to call for this, I'm wondering?
If that is the case, death of other religious leaders would also call for this kind of attention... What will happen to us now? Holiday country is now becoming a fitting name for us. Mga kapwa Pinoy, what can u say?

Well, what do you expect? Election is fast approaching and InC is a cashout if you earned their trust and favor. It only shows how whacked and retarded the person who runs our country is. What's funnier is we're more whacked because we're still putting up with it.

I love holidays... and this September there was suppose to be only one... and that is Sept. 21 which is like about Ramadan (end or begining, i'm not really sure)... then the president declared Sept. 7 as a non-working holidoy or a period of mourning for Ka Erdy, highest leader of Iglesia ni Kristo... i would have been very happy about that... but they announced it like Friday night... why not in the morning or thursday night...
A lot of working people and companies already made plans for monday work... just like me... and there is no way i can ever cancel that... well, there is nothing we can do now but enjoy the holiday... even if i will be working that time...
Ka Erdy deserves that holiday... i remember the time when there were like 10 Catholic holidays... and all were non working... other sects deserve their own day to celebrate or remember something pertaining to their respective believes...

Well, I agree with you it seems we have the most celebrated spur of the moment holidays. But we can't predict really when important people will pass away. But the point is, do we have to include the whole country? The burial rites will be in Manila and most people in other parts will be doing nothing on that day. then there will be another holiday on the 21st, which has been a holiday for years now but it's not in the calendar.
When I was still in school I am overjoyed if there are holidays but now I got to thinking otherwise. I have noticed that this year there are more holidays official or declared compared to years back.
