Was he REALLY finished?

I love being in the background of a good discussion and debate. However, I came across one where it was dealing with public healthcare. One person simply answered the question, agreed but put in his two cents worth. That's all. Someone else picked a verbal fight by calling names. You can imagine where this ended. After much back and forth trying to reason, my friend said, "This will be my last post on the subject, as you have your answers already situated." Was the other person satisfied with that? No...he kept trying to draw out my friend into a deeper conversation. I wrote, "I believe my friend said he was done with this conversation."
Their reply: "...wrong again! He said "This will be my last post on the subject". That's not the same thing at all. Are you an Anarcho Capitalist too?"
My question is...is it the same? Or is this one of those examples where it was implied yet the stupid idiot couldn't bend to see things clearly?
