I actually have two mottos.....1st....dont put obstacles where they dont't exist......2nd...Don't worry about that which you have no control. They have seen me through well over 50 years and I'm still going strong at 71. I have no worries that I can't handle and I haven't been to a doctor for over 20 years and don't plan to soon. I'm fit as a fiddle and ready for anything that life confronts me with. In addition I'm very happy.

great comeback...thank you. It isn't always easy not to put obstacles in your way. But unfortunately we do it all the time without thinking about it. For example.....I think I'll go to the beach tomorrow IF IT DON'T RAIN. That's the type of obstacle I think of. The word IF is a little word with a very big meaning and it can mean not doing something you really want to do. Where there is a will there is a way.....said the sailor marooned on a deserted island with a mermaid. LOL

I'm constantly amazed sometimes at my husbands carefree attitude. I can worry about the future at a drop of a hat. he always says 'don't worry about it, we will cross that bridge when we come to it". And as I always tell him, what if we get there and we burned it a long time ago?
ha!
Just love a little humor to ever philosophical situations..

I hope to see 71 one day. "dont worry about which you have no control" is a very hard one for me. As a mother of 2, I'm predicting and planning my day before it even starts. But that motto reminds me of my daughters first ice cream cone. I remember sitting across the table from her thinking that scoop was just about to fall off the cone. I remember sitting on my hands just so I could let her enjoy that ice cream without the fuss of mommy saying "stop, lean over, lick the sides!".. She enjoyed that cone, and I learned the valuable lesson that I can't control the speed of the melting ice cream"and as your first motto. My children put the obstacles in my way all the time. I don't have to worry about putting them there myself.
Thanks for your reply! Love it!

sometimes that can be hard when you have millions of eyes staring and judging your actions and wears.
It's hard just to be yourself these days.
It's hard just to discipline you kids in public.
I mean personally, I would love to get up one day and obey no rule, and no "understood" rule. Wow, life would be so much more simple, if I could just wear my bra on my head for the day..NO RULES..

lol
just do the things that could make you happy and ignore the people around you who only caused nothing but troubles. I dunno, but for the past 2-3 years I have learned to live like that, I don't let anyone affects me (esp those people who i think isn't worth my time ^_^ hehe)

I have done that in the past. Like there are days I go to walmart with a hat, sweats and a huge shirt. Never fails, I run into someone I do know (and does matter to me) and I feel so completly dissapointing by the time I leave.
I've learned to at least wear a smile.

Howdy!
Mine (if I could be said to have only one) is:
If it isn't fun and you can't make it fun you're either doing it wrong or shouldn't be doing it at all!

Howdy! I couldn't resist adding another of my favorites:
Learn to shoot well, for although Darkness cannot exist where there is Light, sometimes evil requires explosive encouragement to vacate the premises!

sometimes it's really hard to change your likes\dislikes. I mean they say it's harder to change your husband, than yourself.
Well I have been trying for 8 years to understand the reasons why he likes shoot em up kill em movies...but I rather just change him to like comedy\drama's.

Mine is "Live One Day at a Time." I spent a lot of my life planning for my future- settingt up exactly what it should be and how it should look. When that didn't turn out perfectly I was distraught and lost in life. I now look at each day as a new day with new possibilites and don't put so much pressure on my life to succeed. Funny thing- I have more success and happiness now.

That is great you found something that has worked for you.
I have found I don't plan more than my month.
Like you we have planned on moving out every year for the past 8 years.. We gave up last year. So if it happens, it happens... I have found less stress in the fact that I'm not having to keep searching, it will come.

so is that supposed to mean, you can't really appreciate things that are beautiful, unless you go through something gloomy?

Great question. I don't think you quite understand.
I feel like you can truely appreciate the good, unless, yes you have expierenced the bad.
It's like never having the pleasure of sleeping on a bed, and one day you fall asleep in a bed.. You will appreciate the comfort of that bed, the warmth of the covers, the softness of the blanket.

I thank God for waking me up every morning with the activities of my limbs. Because someone was not that lucky
