How Many People Actually Pay For Gift Credits On Facebook...

...and why?
I wanted to "send" my friend a "gift" today. I clicked on a little football that I wanted to send him, and saw that I needed 10 credits, and that it would cost about $1 USD, or something. Wait a minute!!! Why would I want to pay to send someone a virtual football? I mean I love my friend, but I could probably just copy and paste the image, and send it to him some other way. LOL I have better things to spend my money on, than something virtual.
So, why does Facebook charge for these virtual things, and do you ever send them? Why, why not?

i saw something even worse the other day-a service that provides "friends" for facebook at the rate of $200 per 1000 signups.
it's like fake friends r us or something.

I have never paid for gift credit on facebook. I think it is silly. If I am going to pay for a gift for my frien, it will be something they can hold in their hands.

I'm right there with ya! I will NOT spend money on some stupid image that I could find elsewhere on the internet. Even if it WAS different, it'd be better. If I'm going to spend money on a gift, it's going to be a REAL gift, not some lame virtual one. This kinda goes along with the games on Facebook, too. What's up with some of the games wanting money? Who pays money on these games?? Just to get to a higher level quicker or something? Or whatever the reason is for charging money for stupid little features. It's so crazy and I bet you anything people fall for it and give in. *sigh* What a sad world...

I just recently learned that there are credits on Facebook. I didn't know you had to buy them though. I think that's silly, I don't want to pay for credits to send a tiny virtual picture to someone. I must say that seems ridiculous. I would just as soon draw a picture and send that to someone. It has more meaning too since it is something I drew myself. I am adding a picture I drew for you (and posted to Gather some time back)

LOL I so agree with you. And it's not only facebook. I am really surprised when I see someone spending money on things like that. I personally know someone that is in some sort of chat/social site thingy. She has spent close to a hundred dollars there already, getting different costumes for her avatar and this and that. I just have trouble understanding it, but I guess she does. Very strange.I guess it seems so easy to buy credits and then buy gifts that people don't even think about the money they're spending. It would probably be different if they had to physically touch the money to pay, but in the virtual world everything seems so easy - and unreal that people sometimes end up not that realistic either LOL

Hi danishcanadian. I was wondering the same thing!
I've never paid for any of the gift credits on there. Heck, I feel silly enough sending the free ones as it is. Though if someone sends me one I may just send one back to them, so long as it doesn't cost me anything. LOL
Happy mylotting!

I've never bought gift credits for virtual gifts. In fact, I didn't even know they were selling gift credits.
Maybe they're hoping that people will buy it without really thinking through their actions? xP
There are plenty of gift apps where you can send free stuff... I really don't think I'll ever buy gift credits just to send a picture.

I have spent zero for anything on Facebook. I guess it's a way for some of these application creators to make money. Some of these charity applications give you the option to "buy" certain virtual gifts where the money goes towards a good cause (well, supposedly). I only do SuperPoke Pets, and we have the option of buying "gold" coins if we want better, animated items for our Pet's habitats. But I never buy them - I think I can live without the extra! I'd rather buy a real greeting card and a postage stamp for someone if I were going to spend a wee bit of money for someone's special occasion. A virtual gift is such a "nothing" - I certainly wouldn't fork out money for it!!

The only gifts that I send via Facebook are the free ones. The gifts are stupid and are not necessary. Why waste money on these dumb things? I find the gifts so stupid. Do people actually waste their money on these? Is it really that important to send a fake gift to someone?
