Divorce - Right or Wrong?

Hi there dolmitta When I got married over 12 years ago I married with intention that it would be for the rest of my life but I had no idea how unbareable married to this man was going to be. I believe that I did the right thing by leaving my husband and fleeing with my kids to a safe house, I have no doubt in my mind that it was the right thing to do for all of our safety.

I have been known to always take a side. Divorce is wrong. I may be idealistic but divorce is only applicable to cases of psychological incapacities or on abusive relationships. For me, divorce is not an option. It is a way out, a scapegoat, or whatever you may call it; but it simply means partners giving up on each other. Whatever happened to the oath?

Divorced be something wrong, and also became something right. All depends on the cause and how to address the divorce.

In Islam, divorce is permitted but it is hated by GOD. So divorce is allowed if there is no possibility for them to stay in marriage..that`s why couple should think twice before they decide to separate. If there is domestic violence,betrayal i agree that divorce is a MUST but if problems can still be solved, why don`t they discuss their problems and find the best solution?

Hi dolmitta, I've always believed that one only get married once in one's lifetime. It is our duty to make the marriage work. If we resort to divorce at the slightest sign of a problem then we're not being responsible adults. The only time when I could ever condone a divorce is when it involves an abusive relationship.

I think that some people are quick to sign up for a divorce. They do not even try to talk to their partners to fix the problem. This could be very problematic when there is a child involved. However there are some people who get a divorce for genuine reasons. If the partner is abusive and nothing can change his behavior, then it is best to get a divorce instead of living a miserable life. Another problem, is that some people are forced into marriages, so we cannot really blame them for getting a divorce.

Divorce is very sad especially when there is kids involved but sometimes it is for the best, we are given one life that we know of and we must make the most of that life by being as happy as we can, so we should not waste a minute by living with someone that we are not happy with...life is way too short..

Hi there! Divorce would be right if there are valid reason. A valid reason would have to be for the betterment of both parties. But if its just to escape problems and be with someone else, then that's when a divorce is wrong.

Hi there, its a sad thing when you reach decission to end marriage already. The kids will be the one who will suffered much, so as much as possible if the marriage can be solve try to do it first before having this decision, its really hard one. But if you think that you can't solve the problem i guess there is no wrong doing divorce as long as you talk well i mean you will stay there for your kids and have still communication for the sake of your kids, much better to get divorce if your not doing things well its better than to fight everyday seeing your kids, but besure you will still be friends for your kids keep on mylotting

I agree that divorce is very sad especially when there is kids involved but sometimes it is for the best.Because we can't always control everything.
