There are two options for you to apply for a job. You can do it through online or be a walk in applicant. In these two options which do you prefer? With me, when i was still applying for a job. I used to do the online application. There are lots of benefits if you will do it online.First thing, you can save money for your transportation and other expenses. Secondly, it will save your time, you can do other things after staying at least an hour online looking for a job, unlike walk in application, you will have to spend your whole day searching for a new job. In addition, when you apply through online, you just have to wait for their e - mail if you are qualified for the position or not. What about you, which do you prefer?Share your opinion.

I am not sure if it is different by country or just by different fields of work but while you can apply online for work, the places where I apply to will call you if your application is accepted and you are to be interviewed. For myself, personally, while I do not like to go out and talk to potential employers, I feel that it makes a better impression on the potential employer, and they can gauge right then and there whether you will be right for the job - so it saves them and you time. While I know that being judgmental in the sense of judging another solely for appearances and first impression isn't right, if the potential employer's going to do that - most likely your not going to want to have worked with or for him or her anyway!

In the USA equal opportunity employment is enforced for many places. Many applications have "We are an equal opportunity employer" I believe that it's name is EEqual Opportunity Act if you want to look that up. I am not sure where your from, for all I know you could be in the USA so what I've said could just make me look stupid... lol. But yes, while they should be fair to others, some places aren't, even with the act in place. Though like I said, it's better to know beforehand then to work for a class a jerk!

We have the same idea. And I don't think physical appearance or looks will be a problem in hiring an applicant. There are some disabled people who are more talented and skilled than to those who are fully fit. I think the employer should not discriminate. And sometimes , they look into the school were you came from. If they think it is not a popular school, they will decline your application. They will never look if you are good or not, which is really unfair. Thanks for sharing, have a great day!happy mylotting!!

I prefer also to online application. I can expressed myself freely into my resume for job application as well as there is no need to walk and travel. We saved money and make-up less tension upon interview. Right now the nature of my job is work at home in Medical Transcription. Working at my own time depends upon the load of works.

Med trans earn big they say and that is true. As of now I'm in Ojt and entry level position. It should take time before I get reach the big salary event. I need to get first the high level of accuracy. Med trans needs a good speed in typing, 98% accurate in transcribing dictation and english grammar profficiency. It takes time before I perfect the work. Time will come i'll be there!

Did you get this job through online as well?So how do you have your salary here? Is this like part time job?Why not work in a big company?

Well both have their advantages and disadvanatges. I have myself seen there are less opportunity in online applications. Its true many companies give a job code and give mail id tos end resume., I have done so many times and have got responses very less times.Plus I think in most of the cases, I was truly eligible for the jobs, but got no response.Similarly in walk ins I can atleast walk there and attain interview. They can take me if I qualify.

"Its true many companies give a job code and give mail id tos end resume., I have done so many times and have got responses very less times.Plus I think in most of the cases, I was truly eligible for the jobs, but got no response.". Yes it is really true. I have experienced this as well. I have applied for at 30 companies but only 5 of them will respond to your application. But still I give credits to online application because my current job is applied it online. thanks for sharing. happy mylotting!!

I think walk in is much better. Online application usually only submitting our working application such as cv, resume, etc. But practically when our application is accepted and the employer want to meet us for interviewing us, we still must go to the company. So i think walk in interview is the best option. Usually the acceptance chance of walk in interview can be predicted at that time. Good luck and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

I respect your opinion. For me when you are still applying, it is advisable to do it through online. I find walk in application difficult. I felt that my application has no direction. Just for instance, i applied in one company and I was not able to pass, so i have to proceed to another company, which I do not know where is located. So finding a new company is another ways of time. While if you are doing it through online, you just have to wait for their confirmation and the time they are going to interview you. that is just my opinion. I respect your opinion as well.happy mylotting!

I will prefer which is more comfortable and easy. I mean I would always love to apply online for a job. Because, it saves our time and money a lot as we can do it from our home itself. We need not have to walk up to the office just to drop our application form. But, the final selection procedure should be based on an interview or some tests about the job prophile. Suppose, we are applying for a marketing job and the questions should be based on our experience and field of work that are not covered in the resume. Online applications facilitates the employer too to scrutinize the prospective applicants and saves a lot of paper work.

walk in interview is the best method to go for interview. Here you can speak face to face what are your qualities which can co. take advantages. as in resume we mentioned only those qualities which are best to that post. Also in person when any person meets then feelings are different from reading resume. so I always prefer walk in interview.

"Walk in interview is the best method to go for interview. Here you can speak face to face what are your qualities which can do."I agree with you with that. In my case, I got my current job through online. That is why i find online application as beneficial to me. I respect your opinion.

in my opinion, walk in is effective way to find job, it's more successful way, the manager can see you and you can face to face talking, it's more convince. while finding job online, you can seek more jobs on certain time comparing with walk in.

For me, it would depend on where the Company or Organization is located. If it is in the City or near the City I am living, then I would prefer walk-in. I could then meet the people at the Company and have personal contact. If it is in another city or even another country, then online application is the way. I have been interested in international organiztions and have many times contacted them and submitted applications online.

this is a good point. You are right, it is a case to case basis, I also did that. But there are some instances, even the company is near to me,I still prepare online application. thanks for sharing your opinion.happy mylotting!!

If I were and HR, I would prefer a walk in applicant compared to an online applicant. Now the technology is improved and you can see the applicant or talk to him online. You also have phones with good power so that even if the applicant turn papers to refer for your questions, you can identify. But, interviewing asn online candidate is far different than seeing a candidate in person.

I understand your point of view. Just like the previous responder, I mean the responder before you, she also prepares walk in applicants. She is a manager of one company. In this case, we have different point of view, but anyway, both of this are helpful tools for us to land in one job. Thanks for sharing!happy mylotting!

As a manager, I have to say that when I'm hiring people, I pretty much ignore online applications. (Sorry to those of you who only use that approach!). My reasoning is this, if someone really wants a job they are going to take the time and effort to come and talk to me. As an employer, it gives me the opportunity to get a "feel" for that person and a sense of whether or not they will fit in. It's that simple. How a person presents and carries themselves carries much more weight with me than an email with a CV attached. After an interview, I might remember something of the conversation with the interviewee that will be in their favor. If I never meet you, how are you going to stand out of the 100's of applicants I see? Get it?

I understand your point Ms. manager. With the current situation now,I mean recession period, if we will become a walk in applicant, it will let us spend a lot of money. One is for the transportation, another for the requirements and documents needed and the third one is for your food. Effort and time is also needed. Unlike with online application, all you have to is visit a website and apply for a job. After being online for at least an one hour, you can do other things, at least with it, you did not spend much effort, time and money.Anyway, that is your opinion since you are a manager. I know that is what you expect from an applicant. thanks for sharing.happy myloting!!

I usually apply for jobs via online, even though when I was a business manager, I preferred those who did walk in applications. Online is easier though, because I don't always have a babysitter to spend hours walking around getting applications; and I believe that it's also better online, because people see your application before they ever have a chance to judge you based on looks alone. On a funnier note, when I worked in a ghetto in Michigan at a fast food place, you would not BELIEVE the number of people that returned their applications by coming to the drive through window... *eyeroll*

Lol!It's true that if you are already a parent, applying online is really helpful. You can do other things after being online for at least an hour. In my situation, I find applying online is beneficial. My current job now is through online and I am not a walk in applicant. So I did not spend much in my application. happy mylotting!!

Hello my friend! :) For me, I prefer to process my application via walk in rather than online. It is because you can see the progress of your application and you could get more details if you will pass or not unlike online, you don't have any idea whether they would qualify you for the job or not. That is why I prefer to apply walk in and you don't have to anticipate things or give yourself such false hopes of getting the job position. :)

You have a point on that. that is your idea, I respect it,that is the good thing with walk in application, on the day itself you will informed if you are qualified for a job or not. Maybe the next time that I will apply, I will try to apply through walk in. With it, I can see which will it is really advantageous to apply for. thanks for sharing.happy myloting!!

I would chose to have a walk in application than submitting my application through the internet or online. This way I am safer and not being lazy. Some of the job interview has one day application process. It is still the same if you submitted your resume online because they will say to you to bring resume when you will go and apply to their company. I have tried several times for an online application and I really don't understand because what happened is that they only called me to show up in an interview and bring pen, resume, and a 2x2 picture.

I respect your opinion. Yes, that is something that sounds disappointing when you apply through online, after you have have submitted your resume, once they have read it, you will be ask to go to their office and bring with you again your resume, 2x2 picture, etc.

i would prefer walk in applicant as it would create a impression about us in their minds and if we are confident about us we would be present at our best to them this will ease the more % of chances for us to to get the job if it is online application all resembles the same and it would become something like a lot system hence i fell walk in applicant is the best.

You are the third responder in a raw that prepares walk in applicant rather than online application. I respect your opinion. In my point, you will save a money, time and effort. We are in a recession period so we have to look into on things on how we can save money. Anyway, you have a point that you can easily see the applicant if he / she is really qualified or confident for the job. thanks for sharing!happy mylotting!!

Hi there! Well, like you, I also prefer to apply online because it saves time and effort. Also, it shows that you are knowledgeable in using the computer and internet to simplify tasks and do some cost-cutting too. An advantage of applying personally though will be seeing how the workplace looks like, the people that you will possibly be working with and experiencing the "feel" of the company or establishment where you're applying for a job.
• Philippines
5 Sep 09
Yes, you are right, when you apply personally, you will be seeing the workplace. But still, I prepare the online application, all you just have to do is to wait for the feedback. You can focus to other things while waiting for the feedback of the application.

walk in applicant is better only when you are a best one at your communication skills. one cannot judge you perfectly through the online.i have attended an interview ,which is my first one and with a little preparation.what i have prepared is well sufficient for the interview.i with a fear was unable to communicate well for the simple questions.i have gone for an online interview for the same company for which i am working.
