It's a day full of qualification matches for the South African 2010 FOOTBALL World Cup.
Is your national team playing today? How do you think your team will do?
If your national team is not involved, is there any other matches you'll be watching?
My national team, Romania, will be playing a really tough game away against France... We have no chance of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup, but a good result (a draw match is considered a good result) will be great for the team's morale, and will show the value this new national team has, not so long after changing its coach. I really don't know what to say about this match... I'm hoping for a draw.

Hello, Sir_bobby88!
The latest results in football support your opinion, as many small teams have achieved some good results when nobody was giving them a chance.
Romania managed to make a draw against France last night (1-1) . France totally dominated the match and practically humiliated us, but the final result is great for us, considering the huge difference between their players and ours.

Hi stvasile,
My country never reach the World Cup final. So, we always support other team.
There are a few good games for today schedules that worth to watch. Match like Argentina vs Brazil, Denmark vs Portugal and Spain vs Belgium are the most anticipate games. Denmark and Spain will conform their ticket to the South Africa if they can win their games today.
Argentina vs Brazil always being the highlight match because of the rivalry. Both teams always try to outdone the other. Both team also always be a favorite of every natural football fan. Even though Brazil never won their games at Gigante de Arroyita stadium before, I fancy them triumph this time. Argentina is in a lot of pressure to win this game especially when they are only at the forth place in the South America standing.
I don't really know about the France vs Romania game and it is maybe because Romania have nothing to play. The result doesn't mean anything for them in term of qualification. But there must be some pride to take care. I heard Mutu can't play today because of injury. That's pity because he is a good player after move to Florentina.

I think Argentina vs Brazil is the most expected game of the week-end. I don't know why, but something tells me Argentina will win the match.
They played really well in the friendly match against Russia, and they really need the points. I think it will be a very nice game to watch. I'll be watching it for sure during the France-Romania break and after my national team's match will end.
By the way, I know some websites where you can watch matches for free from all over the world. If you are interested, let me know and I'll send you the links via PM.

Even though the record shown that Brazil never won in that stadium before, I always want Brazil to win in this games. Apart from England, I always support Brazil when it come to a national team. Their skills and pace is wonderful to watch.
Argentina might have the power on their strike force but the lost the link man. They have no creative midfielder. Mascherano is more to defensive midfielder. Veron already past his times. The only player can play there with creativity is Riquelme. But he left the national team after spat with Maradona.

Hi friend,
I am sorry to hear that, although i had known that your national team reach the World Cup final. Comparing with you, i am lucky, as Chinese national team had play a Worlf Cup final on 2002. Although it is not a good experience for Chinese national team, i still happy i can experience it. But since that, Chinese professional league have went down all the time. And now, i do not even watch through a complete match. But i am not sure why it happens. I feel realy regretful about Chinese football. As a Chinese, i sincerely hope Chinese football can go up and reach the world cup final again.
By the way, you had known that i had watched the game between Argentina and Brazil. Not comment any more about it.

I've lost interest in the world cup qualification matches of my country, Nigeria, lately. I feel the players are not committed enough, not giving their best and taking things for granted. Nigeria is playing Tunisia in Abuja, Nigeria, on Sunday, September 6, 2009. I won't watch the match. Nigeria needs a convincing win over their Tunisian counterparts ro move to the top position of the group table. Currently, Tunisia is on top with 7 points from three matches while Nigeria is second with 5 points from three games.
I'm in Ghana. I'm glad that Ghana will be playing Sudan in Accra, Ghana, at the same time Nigeria and Tunisia will be playing in Abuja. I'm going to watch the Ghana vs Sudan match.
I've watched the following games this weekend: Gabon vs Cameroun and Cote d'Ivoire vs Burkina Faso, yesterday; Mozambique vs Kenya, Benin vs Mali and Togo vs Morocco, today.

I think Nigeria still have their chance of qualifying, but it's not up to them any more... Tunisia has to make at least a draw... I wanted to see this match earlier, but I could only find Arab-speaking channels to see the match on.
Ghana, on the other hand seems to have an easy road to the World Cup - 3 victories out of 3, and it looks like they're winning the 4th too.
Cote d'Ivoire also seems to be in good shape.
I'm surprised to see Gabon on the first place in that group...
I must admit though, that I haven't been following the African teams lately... I'm looking forward for the next African Nations Cup - that's when all my football attention is focused on Africa.

My fear was confirmed; Nigeria could only manage a two all draw with Tunisia. If a country and her players take things for granted instead of giving it all it takes, that's the type of result and mess they deserve. I don't cry for Nigeria! I don't see Tunisia slipping when the ticket to the world cup is in view. At this stage, even if both Nigeria and Tunisia ended up with the same number of points and Nigeria has a superior goal difference, it won't count. REMEMBER THE HEAD TO HEAD RULE. Nigeria and Tunisia played a goal-less draw in Tunis.
Congratulations to Ghana, they did it! The Ghana-Sudan match really didn't live up to the billing but the most important thing is that Ghana won and booked her place in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Cote d'Ivoire, by my own calculation, was the first country in Africa to qualify. The country has 12 point from four matches. Their closest rival, Burkina Faso, has six points from the same number of matches. Even if Burkina Faso wins the next two qualifying matches to end up with 12 points, and Cote d'Ivoire loses the next two qualifying matches to remain at 12 points; Cote d'Ivoire will still be the winner by the head to head rule. The number of goal difference of Burkina Faso will be immaterial for the Ivoriens beat the Burkinabes home and away!

A great player doesn't necessarily turn out to be a great coach. And Maradona doesn't seem to be a great coach (at least from the results Argentina had under his command until now), so I think it's not really correct to say "the great Maradona", but rather "the former great player Maradona"

Yeah, I dont think just because he was a great soccer superstar he deserves to coach the Argentenian Nationnal Team. They have some very good players like ofcourse Messi and Maxi Rodriguez. Its time they beat brazil head to head, they havent won one in a long time.
And for Brazil, there not that unbeatable, I mean look at the confederations v=cup final between US and them, that was a close one.

Hi friend,
You are luck than me, as my national team even not have the right of playing the qulification matches. But i do care about some matches. In fact, this morning, i had just watched the game between Argentina and Brazilian team. It is a wonderfull match, but also a regretful match, at least for me. It is a critical match for Argentina. But unfortunately, she lose the game.
By the way, i am Chinese. As you may know, Chinese national team is really not good at playing football. I have to admit that.

I didn't see the match between Argentina and Brazil, as it was around 3 am in my time zone... I am a bit sorry Argentina lost the match, but I am surprised to see Datolo score again! He played for the first time in the national team against Russia and he scored then too. I guess there really is something about this kid.
Why do you say China is not allowed to play in the qualifiers? From what I see on the FIFA website, China played their chance, but they were knocked-out during the 3rd qualifying round, when they placed 4th in a group with Australia, Quatar and Iraq...
I know it must be frustrating to really love football and to see that your national team is not playing very well, but China has many valuable athletes in other sports that you can be proud of (gymnastics, table tennis, badminton, etc.).

I think a draw against Serbia would be great. They are, after all, the best team of the group, and certainly a better team than Romania. I think the Serbian will play to win, so that they seize the first place before their last match against Lithuania, so it will be really hard to beat them on their home ground.
