I know a lot of people who are really mad to watch a movie on the very first day and the first show of its release. They are ready to do anything to watch it on the first day itself. They are ready to sacrifiece anything for the first show of the movie.
Well are you also crazy about this? I am not, I watch a movie sometimes after a month.

I would not think so.
However I’m not the person who watches a film at the first week because I’m not very informative one. In general I got the information about a film at the time when many people already watched it and talked it a lot. So I read some reviews and I might give it a go.
I think the really crazy thing is the ticket price. I watched Harry Potter 6 one month ago. The ticket price was £10. Compared to the wages my husband can earn I think watching film is already a luxury activity. Now the directors chase the high cost films and make the watching cost high too. I missed the time when I was young it was so cheap to watch film in cinema and there were so many good films that worthy watching.

What? It's crazy to watch at the cinema for 10 GBP! Mine is only USD 10 max, and it is on the super luxurious cinema with reclining sofa and deluexe waiting room. The normal admission price is USD 1.5-5....

Well I usually don't but if it's something I've really been anticipating then yes. We don't have to wait in line or anything though, since we usually order the tickets online and just claim them in the theater. It's really helpful since we can watch the first showing without too much hassle. Happy MyLotting!

This does not really apply to me. I think mostly because I don't like watching movies in the theaters at all. Secondly because the movies are released with some months delay in my country after the original release date. Thirdly because I'm patient enough and know that I have a lot of unseen movies to go watch meanwhile the recently released movie doesn't come out on DVD format :)

I never watch a movie on the first day of its release. My husband and I always wait until the movie comes out on DVD. It is not only the price of the theater that keeps us away, it's also all of the distractions within the movies--babies crying, people getting up blocking the view, and private discussions during the movie. All of these things take away from our enjoyment. Therefore, it is a complete waste of our money.

Well, I'm not the one who watch a movie in the first show, but if the movie is really really interesting, I try to watch it at the last show on day 1, being that I am working and cannot leave the office until that time...It's fun to criticise the movie when my mind is still objective and not affected by other people's opinion. I do that when watching The Dark Knight. My mind is still objective and not filled with spoilers from my friends. In the end, I love that movie and watched it three times:)

Hi yogambal,
I never watch the movies on their first day release. Most of the first day movies release shown at midnight and I don't like to go out that time except if I had to watch live telecast football match.
I am not a movie goer too. I didn't like to watch movies in the cinema and pay the high price for one time show. I prefer to watch it at home, video player or from my laptop. If I like the movies I can watch it all over again.

Although I really love movies, I still don't like falling in a long line for a long time. I do get annoyed for people who watched it on the first day and tries to spoil the movie by telling some really good parts in the movie, so I watched it not the first day but definitely not the last day of showing!

No way! I much prefer to wait a while until seeing a movie. The first week a movie is out the theaters are so crowded. So I would be packed into the theater, with a lot of people who talk during the movie, whose phones ring during the movie. When the crowd has thinned after the movie has been out a while, the theater is not so jam packed, and I'm not affected as much if someone is whispering. Odds are they won't be right behind me, but spread out in the room.

helo yogambal_64,
i and my family seldom watch movie in the theater. indeed it is great to watch in big screen but find it too expensive. we just do it once in a while. and if we do, we don't watch on the first day of its release. we'll wait after a week or so, so we don't need to worry of lot's of people watching. this way, we can choose where to seat.

I am a great fan of the movies..and i should say that i am crazy to watch the movies in the first day...because you know a month before the movie is released it's promo is telecasted...so you gotta good sense of what kindda movie it will be..that is why i become more interested in watching the movie in the first day....

I think it is way easier to be able to just wait it out, buy or rent the movie and then enjoy it in the comfort of my own home. No lines, I dont have to worry about people being disruptive (and if someone is i can always pause it!). This option pairs best with some sort of home theater/entertainment system! lol

i do not go crazy like many of those who die to watch first show. I have patience and watch the movies with great planning and thinking.
for me, the most important thing for going to a movie is its stars especially the actor.
if its my fav. actors movie then i surely go and watch it. i go to theatres once in a year and only go in shahrukh Khan movies as they are family oriented movies.

I am a movie addict and i always go to the cinema to watch new realese movie on the first day.To avoid getting stuck on the long line while buying ticket,i will call the cinema and book an order for seat. When the times come i just go straight at the other counter, make my payment and straight to the cinema room.It is much easier that way.If i dont get the chance to watch the movie on its first day of realease it would be fine for me to watch it on the other day.

Hello, I hate to get crushed in the mad crowd
waiting to watch the movie first day, first show.
The other day we were on our way to the railway station.
The train was at 7PM. already it was 5:30. Suddenly
we came across this crowd blocking the traffci from all
sides. No onw whether it is an accidnt, or some birthday
procession of some leader or some victory celebrations
froma recent byelection. At last it turned out to be the
first show crowd for the film ,"Kandasamy" How we cursed?
But luckily we could make it to the station in time.
It was really a mad mad crowd
Have a nice day

I used to go to release dates of movies if they were on Fridays. I do not do that anymore. The exceptions are Lord Of The Rings and Harry Potter. I just could not resist. I guess I am just a nerd, who loves his stories. If a movie that I really want to see is coming out and I can make it, I would try to see it opening day or opening weekend, but if I can not it is not the end of the world.

I think some people get a rush from being one of the first people to see a new movie.
Like you, I will often wait for a movie to be around for a while before I see it. I think some people just need to see a movie before their friends do or someone tells them too much information about the movie. We all have our movie viewing quirks.
