Hi eternal_ink, I agree with ChangeLife, a christian is one who is living to please God. One that is filled with the knowledge of His will and wisdom and His spiritual understandings. One that continues to feast on God's word. One that fellowship for enjoyment not just as a duty. One that knows how not to fall into a vicious cycle of sin and hate, but how to escape and destroy it.

in literal I think "Christian" is a follower of Christ.
Christ is many things to many people.
Personally I would say Christ:
- defied the notion that humans are self-centered. A human can opt to lose his life and suffer intense pain for what is right.
- demonstrated by example that what is really important is not one's human body or earthly features associated with it. But rather a soul on the path to perfect spiritual union with the Supreme Being, who in Christianity, I think is referred to as the Holy Trinity ? I wish someone from the Vatican clarify that ... Cheers

The term Christian literally means an adherent of Christ, was first used as a nickname, a term of reproach in Acts 11:26 and was used by King Agrippa in Acts 26:28. But Peter in 4:16 of his first epistle encourage the believers not to be ashmaed of this name but glorify God in this name. Today the term should mean a man of Christ, a man with Christ as his life and who live by His life, and not merely a supporter of Christ.

Christian is the one who believe in the Cross, Crucifixion of Jesus, and resurrection after that.
Mostly believe in the stories after the Cruci-Fiction and forget about everything the Jesus preached. Then you are a real Christian.
If you preach what Jesus preached, You will became a Muslim, so don't do that.
