Are you a dog lover or a cat lover?

I've grown up with dogs, so needless to say I'm one of the biggest dog lovers you'll find. While I prefer the bigger breeds--Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, and the like, I can live with the smaller breeds. As far as cats go, I like the big cats such as tigers, lions, etc. I absolutely can't stand house cats--I don't want to live with an animal that's moodier than I am and decides when to give affection and when not to (most of the time, you're flat out of luck if you want affection from a cat). Meh. These are just my thoughts. What about you? Dogs or cats? Or perhaps some weird, exotic animal that you'd never think someone would have as a pet?

Both cats and dogs are perfect pet for me but i prefer dogs more than cats. Just like you, I grew up with dogs and they are more affectionate than cats (i have cats too). I had pit bulls and they were really a nice pet however, my brother asked for it so i gave him my lovable pit-bulls (a male and a female). Now I have fish hehe. They quite nice as a pet but you won't get affection literally as they just swim (oblivious of everything) lol.

Have you ever seen Betta fish? They're the funniest things...put two males together--even if they're in separate glass bowls, and you put the bowls right next to each other--and they'll start trying to attack each other.

Beta fish? Hmmmm never heard of it but the sound of attacking each other on a separate bowl is indeed funny lol. Their reflection towards the other must probably be big and their probably thinking as well, that they are just on the same bowl. I gotta check that out because i find them weird and at the same time funny. Have a nice week!.

I have lived with cats and dogs all my life. No matter were I lived in the world I always has a dog. I even had a "desert dog mutt" when I lived in North Africa. My favorite big dog is Doberman Pinscher (Happy memories of my beloved "Tana") now due to my health and having a rather small backyard I have 3 chihuahuas. I am keeping a watch to see if I can find a Minpin to adopt then I have the best of being able to have a small doberman.

MinPin - Miniature Pischer
Miniature Pinscher Known as the "King of the Toys," the Miniature Pinscher is a compact, smooth-coated dog who is alert, spirited and fearless, with a unique high-stepping, hackney-like gait. With his black and rust coloring, cropped ears, and docked tail, he resembles his cousin the Doberman Pinscher, but he is not a miniature Dobie. Coat colors include red, stag red (red with black hairs), black with rust markings, or chocolate with tan

What's a Minpin? Sorry for the ignorance. I've never heard of this breed before.

i love cats as they are so sweet and loving. they are very cute creatures and their voices that is saying mew..mew feels so good. animals have their own life and like us have good and bad moods so we should not implement our likings and orders on then every time. i think people would not keep insects as pets as they are so weird looking creatures and makes people scary and give creeps too.

I agree with you about the insects. I freak out every time I see a roach; there's no way I'd have an insect as a pet.

I'm a lover of both.when i was younger,we had a dog who loves to see us get in the school bus in the morning.he will look at the bus until it disappears from his line of vision.now we have more cats.one of our cats is really playful.she is the baby of the family and my dad calls her a spoiled brat because whenever she purrs, she gets what she wants, whether its food or ear rub.

My golden retriever is exactly like that. She's incredibly spoiled...whatever my parents and I have for dinner, she always gets some of it (she gets her own scrambled egg and grits, her own bowl of cereal, and a lot of other things! ). Oh, and I'm her official belly rubber as well. A lot of times when I come downstairs, the first thing she does when she sees me is roll over onto her back so I can give her a belly rub. hehe

How many cats did you have? I'm just curious...a friend of my mom and dad's had at least eight cats in her house, and that's not counting the neighborhood strays. lol

Definitely dog lover!! We have 3 adult native dogs at home. 1 of them just gave birth to 4 cute little puppies :) The pups are now 8 weeks and they're so energetic. They would run with their mom and destroy whatever gets their way like slippers or doormats. My partner has a cat in the house which is cute as well but i enjoy it more when I'm playing with my dogs than cats 'cause cats don't run with you. They just scratch you with their paws.

I wish my Golden Retriever would have puppies. There's nothing more I'd like to see than a bunch of little furballs running around the house. :D

I'm a cat lover. I have a dog and a cat but by far, I definitely prefer cats. I find cats quieter, cleaner and since they're more independent, you have more time to do more things for you and for the cat. I feel like dogs are too needy and sometimes that drives me nuts. It's not like I hate them or anything, I just prefer cats over dogs.

I actually am a fan of both, and horses as well. We have a small mini dachusound (sp?) and also a persian cat. I honestly dont' think I could pick just one as a favorite! The persian's are not as moody as other breeds of cat, they are also a lot more affectionate - they do tend to be lazy and sort of leery though.

I am more of a dog lover rather than a cat lover. Though I do not hate cats. I just love dogs more. It maybe because when I was a child I had a dog and when I was in college, I had another pet dog. All of them are gone now due to old age. Well, now I have a puppy, its just the ordinary breed. But this is not for me. I bought it for my 6 year old son, hoping that he will develop a liking for dogs.

well.i'm a dog lover and i never feed any cat so far so i have no experience to compare the difference between dog and cat . i prefer dog because dog can help us to care the house and we can know instantly if there are some uninvited strangers approached to our house.

I'm a dog lover. I do like cats, but I'd prefer a dog for my pet. I just think that they are a lot friendlier and fun to play with. Cats are kinda...lazy. Dogs are energetic, fun. But they can relax when they need to. I like that about them.

I like both dogs and cats. I've never had a cat or dog that didn't want to get or give affection. Maybe I got lucky. Currently I am an apartment dweller and we are not allowed to have cats or dogs, so we have rats. One rat like to sit on the shoulder and watch the world go by. The other is a cuddler and likes to be bundled in a small blanket and carried around.

I like dogs as pets. I have never tried cats and I do not think that I will ever like them as pets. I like small cute dogs which I can pick in my arms and with whom I can play. I love the way dogs show their affection. Also the funny things they do make me feel happy. Sometimes when I come home back from work in a very indifferent mood the cute and lovable face of my dog never fails to cheer me up.

I absolutely love dogs. I cannot stand cats. I love the labrador retriever. I guess because it was our first dog.

I'd definitely would have to say that I'm a dog person. I really love dogs. They're playful and just fun to be with. Unfortunately though, I can't be much of a cat lover, as I'm deadly allergic to them.

I totally agree with you! Dogs are so sweet and cats are so cold! I've always said that dogs are like boys and cats are like girls. I don't think it's a coincidence that most of my friends are male. I can't stand little dogs. The smallest breed I really like is Bassett Hound. Before I moved to this apartment I had a sweetheart of a Rottie. She was so gentle and sweet. She probably wouldn't have hurt a fly...unless of course they tried to hurt her "pack." I felt so bad when I had to give her away because this apartment's pet deposit was ungodly high and I just couldn't afford it. But she ended up living on a farm with a very nice man and she is constantly on his lap and they sleep together. He totally babies her and gave her the best home a dog could ask for. I've tried to have cats as pets but they always just pee everywhere and do gross stuff and glare at me. Dogs, I think, are just way better pets.

I love both cats and dogs. Cats are cool because they are independent they like to take care of themselves and they are very clean and never stink. Dogs are cool because they are sooo affectionate and will defend you and they are very helpful and they learn very quick they are very smart. I use to have a cat named Shadow whom was very smart as well and very affectionate we taught her how to play fetch. My boyfriend used to hate cats until we got Shadow. Exotic animals i like are tigers, panthers, pumas, cheetahs too bad i will never own one too agressive they would eat me.

I like both but I favor dogs more. I have 3 dogs and 10 cats, all adopted. My dogs are Lab Retrievers. Cats are mixed breeds. Reason why I favor dogs is they interact and respond more than my cats do. In addition to that, the cats scratch up and ruin furniture but I think it would be cruel to declaw them for convenience. I also tend to sneeze a lot if theyre around me but still, It's not that bad and my family is also very compassionate so we took them in.
