The presidential address to kids

What is the deal with noone wanting the President speaking to the children? I am a nurse and I work in a jail. I see alot of teenagers dropped out of school and in jail. I think these kids today need all the encouragement he/she can get. What do you think?

i think kids are messed up due to their crappy parents who dont know how to be parents.

I think we just don't yet trust him. We think he has another agenda. I also feel that there should have been a note sent home letting us know. My kids school didn't watch due to technical difficulty, but if he wants the kids to watch, I think it should have been at night with the parents. It just seemed so secretive in a way.

Even thought there wasn't any thing bad in the speech people just don't trust him. I don't thing the president giving a speech is going to keep some of the losers in school.
