Goodbye kiss on a first date, is it ok?

I think that gesture comes naturally for both parties. If there's a mutual feeling to do it then go ahead. It's just a kiss anyway ('though a deeper feelings can arise from a simple kiss).

Personally, my advice would be against it. I believe a deep friendship should be established before kissing. Words should be enough to express feelings and to express an interest in getting to know the other person.
I believe most of the hurt and disillusionment in relationships today is caused by people rushing into things. When time is taken to get to know the person, to respect the person, and to LIKE the person as a friend, the relationship has much more chance of being a stable and enduring one.

Surely though if someone said "I really like you" or words to that effect to Me I would be well if she liked me why haven't we kissed yet? If you become friends surely the assumption would be that you stay friends and they may meet someone and get with them??

Of course. You want to show them somehow that you like them and want to maybe take it into a relationship. If you don't kiss then your date may think you weren't interested.
