Please tell me you are not "one of those"!

This is something that totally bothers me. I mean, it's so rediculus that it kills me! So, here I am, in a public restroom, at a convention where there are LOTS of women that gotta pee. So, I'm waiting in line for the next available stall. And who walks in but some lady who's decided that we're just standing there waiting line for... I guess the hand dryer???? So, this woman comes up to the front of the line, and looks under EVERY stall door to make sure there are feet in them, and jiggles a couple of the doors just to be sure. OK, now, would I be in line if there was an open stall??? Would people be in front of me waiting if there was an open stall? Would there be people behind me if there was an open stall? --- OK, maybe they'd be behind me... But, I gotta pee too! I'm not gonna stand there and do the pee-pee dance if there's an open stall! UGH! I mean some people are just about as dumb as a rock! I wonder if she thought she was going to butt in front of all of us if she found an empty one??? OK OK, I do have to admit that I have been to places before that had like ZILLIONS of stalls - and actually had them off in a couple different directions - but this place had less than 10 stalls and you could see them all very clearly. And besides, even if there are ZILLION stalls, the women coming out always tell you that there are empties back there. Rude people do not make me happy, can you tell???

Hello Dawn, LOL...that lady was lucky I wasn't standing there. I would have said something to her for sure...like..."Hey, lady do you think I am standing here for my health?? She sounds stupid as a door knob...lol...And if she had to go so bad and had a problem holding, she should have acknowledge the fact that you and others were standing there waiting to use the restroom. I can't stand rude people. We all need to give a little courtesy to people around us. Well, you know there has to be that one person that just makes us shake our heads wondering what planet did they drop off from...LOL... Have a wonderful weekend my friend Happy MyLotting Olivia~

Sometimes when this stuff happens I am just left speechless! I was just really shocked that someone would think we were just standing around waiting for the "special" toilet...

That is one of the things that always really makes me mad. First of all, it is inevitable that there is going to be a line in the ladies restroom while the men never have to wait. People need to get a clue, there needs to be twice the number of stalls for women than there are for men then maybe there wouldn't be such a back-up. Then there is always the woman that thinks she is above waiting in line and will always cut the line to get into the toilet. I guess these kind of people think that we are just standing there waiting for our friend to get done because, you know, a woman never goes to the bathroom alone. (I'm not guilty of that one either).

It does seem like there's never enough bathrooms for the ladies. With the men, they get the stalls and the urinals - we only get the stalls...

Nobody is made happy by rude people, Reiny. That woman displayed her lack of sound judgment which you have. Maybe she was thinking she was going to outsmart you for just standing there so she went on to investigate further to satisfy her queery. Anyway, sorry you are annoyed by her. I would have been amused to watch her. But really we don't have to make fun of other people's stupidity.

Not in defense of the woman's rude behavior, but I went into a public restroom once and a crowd of women was standing around. I stood there against the wall waiting and then a little girl came out of one of the stalls and the whole crowd left the room and went with her when she went out. The other stalls were full at the time, but you can't always judge a situation at first look. It wouldn't be entirely unreasonable to ask someone if they are waiting in line.

I know exactly what you are talking about and have been in the same situation myself - as a person waiting in line and a person just waiting for someone else to come out. If I'm waiting for someone else to come out, I will tell anyone that comes up behind me that I'm just waiting for a person. If I think there may be empty stalls and people are waiting, I will ask if they are waiting for a stall. But I can tell you that this situation was totally different. We were all attending the same convention, all of us just left the same meeting, and there is always a line of people waiting to use the restrooms. Each situation is different, but sometimes they're all the same...

Since most people we share the facilities with are considerate, it's easy to tell when someone is rude because they stand out. I'm glad "those" are in the minority!

I don't blame you. Something similar happen to me I was standing waiting with my 8 year old son who was waiting for the toilet there was only two portal loos and some women came from out of nowhere with I assume her grandson and just walked in front of us and went into the loo. When she came out I said in a rather loud voice to my son 'Quick you better go before someone else jumps the queue'. She just looked at me and said 'I did not jump the queue' and I replied 'yes you did' after that she walked off shooting my a dirty look don't think she expected me to answer back. That annoyed me as I was not standing there for the good of my health, and also if she had joined the queue I would have probably let her go first as the boy must have been about three and having a son that age myself I know that when they need to go, they need to go.

It's pretty wild that we will give up our place in line if we're asked, but it irks us to have it taken from us. I can totally agree with ya!

Yep I totally understand what you are talking about rude people annoy me too. I am not the type of person that you discussed above. Actually I rarely go to the restroom in public, only a few public places. But if I see that there is a line in the restroom I normally ask if people are waiting in line. I can't believe that the lady didn't even ask if people were waiting for the restroom and she just cut in front of everyone. Maybe if no one said anything, maybe she figured since no one stopped her that no one was waiting in line, but still it would have just been polite to ask. I can't understand people like that, its like were you ever brought up right or anything did you learn any manners.

oh yes. some people just think they are better than anyone else. it sounds like something a woman i know would do. shes also one of those that not only is not the sharpest pencil in the box but thinks shes more important than others. i dont know how shes lived this long without serious injury from any one. im not very outspoken with people but my mom would have really put that gal in her place

It's kinda strange how we tolerate "friends" like that!
