May I ask what proof Science has provided that God doesn't exist?

robertsixy, thanks for your reply! In all honesty and in all fairness the debate on the origin of life is still open. Science has proved nothing because there are probably as many scientists who believe in God as those that don’t. If Science had proven anything then no scientist would believe in God. But some of the best scientists are believers and other best scientits are not.
Sir Isaac Newton wrote: “This most elegant system of suns, planets and comets could only arise from the purpose and sovereignty of an enlightened and mighty being.”
I personally see no proof that God does not exist nor can I offer concrete proof that He exists. My own reasoning powers, my own observations, my own experience has convinced me that there is a God, that He cares deeply for each one of us and that at this time He will not furnish absolute proof of His existence. The evidence exists but He allows us to reach our own conclusions. However, in the near future, but I don't know the timing, He will reveal Himself in a manner that will leave no doubt as to His existence. And depending on which conclusion we reach, our eternal destiny wil be decided. This is what I believe and I make no apologies about it!
I wish you well!

Cheers & of course thnx for your answer, believe it or not, it was too short but no one has asked that in the topic. lol jej

Everyone is entitled to their opinion and I am respecting yours. However, science CANNOT answer everything. You said that you do not believe in God,do you believe in a higher power, someone or something who is mightier than us in our fragile outer shells? Have you ever witness a miracle that could not be explained by science or technology--that is the power of GOD!

Jeje yeah but the ancient miracles are by now explained by science, i think that there will be a time when science will explains it all, and when that moment arrives, the humans will not need anymore religions!.

I believe in God for many, many reasons, but there is not enough space to even try and list them here for you - the existence of God cannot be explained with one or two words. However even if I listed these reasons here, you would still deny even the possibility, because you are convinced there is no God.
If a person opposes even the possibility of there being a God, then any evidence can be rationalized or explained away. It is like if someone refuses to believe that people have walked on the moon, then no amount of information is going to change their thinking. Photographs of astronauts walking on the moon, interviews with the astronauts, moon rocks...all the evidence would be worthless, because the person has already concluded that people cannot go to the moon.
When it comes to the possibility of God's existence, the Bible says that there are people who have seen sufficient evidence, but they have suppressed the truth about God. On the other hand, for those who want to know God if he is there, he says, "You will seek me and find me; when you seek me with all your heart, I will be found by you."

I do believe in God. Science has not always been right. Science also keeps changing theories many times. God is the super power which is bigger than even science. God is the reason for everything. Even for science. Even the disasters and all the happenings have a reason which mortals cannot understand. Of course, everyone has the right to their own way of thinking. But to me, God is bigger than religion, science or anything you can imagine. "God" is just a name man has given a power than cannot be explained. Robertsixy - this is a good discussion and I'm sure no one will feel insulted by it. Cheers to you too.

What a way to start the morning..
To my understanding science explains how things work, not why they work nor how it all got started. Granted, one could point out The Big Bang Theory but even were this 'theory' carved in stone science can not explain how or why a little bit of nothing belched and out came something.
Science does not disprove the existence of God. Nor does science prove the existence of science. Keep in mind that a good bit of science is not proven fact. Much of it is theory as with The Big Bang theory, Einsteinian theory, Darwinian theory. A theory is a notion that could be plausible IF..a certain set of factors were involved, factors which themselves are, at times, theory.
The argument against folks like myself (God fearing folks) is that much of our belief is based upon unproven notions which, because of our belief, leads us to the conclusion that God does exist. Held as proof against us is science, which, as stated above, itself contains a good bit of unproven notions which, because of your belief, leads to the conclusion that there is no God.
Notice the similarity? Wild..huh?
Funner still is that your belief structure cannot explain ours. Ours, on the other hand, can explain yours. Its defined as idol worship, false gods and centers around a God wannabe that fell short of his goal and lures folks away from God into a structured mimicry where he's da boss, with everything anti-God putting him in the worshipped position.
And I'm not insulted...ENJOY!

Nice answer buddy, i just want to say that ok big bang theory its not prooved at all, but einstein´s and darwin´s are prooved hehe, and yeah as you say science is not 100% sure, but the fact is that when science is 100% sure of something, that theory becomes into a universal fact, it´s 100% true even if you are on america, on asia, on earth or in jupiter. Thats why i believe in science, cause there are tons of religions out there, and any religion is universal, jeje but yeah it´s okay to believe, thank you for answering. :)

Wow....... I do believe in god. I would also like to point out and take great joy in saying that you are at least wrong about one thing. Science does not have any proof that god does not exist it just points in that direction. I do not believe everything and do agree that science does provide us with knowledge and information. If were you I would not make such blunt statements but I respect your outspoken nature.

Science like ive said is the only way of truth in the universe, evereything that surrounds us is there because of science, and science is there because of weak animals that can think. And yeah science have proof that god doesnt exist, it have prooved it since darwin, galileo, sagan and many others beat celestial thoughts.Read some books and tell me if science have not proof by now that god doesn´t exists.

actually they're more like things that suggest God doesn't exist, but nothing conclusive has been proven. Like there have been a lot of cases in history where something the suggested this to be, but later proof was found explaining that and ending the argument the other way. But yes it does look kinda bad for the people who believe in God.

YES. I believe in GOD! I don't know the reason why you don't believe in Him but the fact that you are still alive and was able to start this discussion means that God exists. We are God's creation. If God doesn't exists, we wouldn't be here as well.
It's true that Science can answer everything. However, these things are not possible without God. Can Science explains the origins of the animals and all the other creatures before we were even here? The way we think, the skills that we have and the things that the humans invented are some of the things that humans can't explain.
I have seen and experienced a lot of miracles that even I can't explain scientifically. So there's no reason why I shouldn't believe in God.

Ok, first of all thnx 4 answering, its really important for me. But i have to say that actually the abilities that we have and our ability to think was caused because millions of years ago our ancestors were very weak, they didnt have big teeth and other things that other species had, so to remain alive, we found the way to survive, and that way was by using instruments, the instruments are the clue of our evolution, without instruments by now we would be extinct.
And i suggest you to read "The origin of life" from Oparin-Haldane, and "The origin of species" by Charles Darwin, you will find alot of answers.
And by the way, there was life on the planet before we were here.
Cheers

Not only do I believe in God, I know without a doubt that He exists. Science has never proven that God doesn't exist, on the contrary, it proves that He does. Science has shown us the amazements of nature and that these things of nature could not have just happened. There had to have been intelligence behind all of creation. That intelligence has to be God. I know a lot of people have been duped by some in the scientific community while others don't want God to exist because they don't want to have to answer for their behavior some day, but just because a person doesn't want God doesn't mean He doesn't exist. Take a look at things that have been invented throughout the ages. Those inventions could be compared to something being created. Did any of those inventions just happen? Of course not. There was intelligence behind them. Does it really make sense that something as complex as DNA, with all the information it contains, have just happened? There has to be intelligence behind it. And that's just one example to the complexity of nature. There are a couple of creatures of nature that are pretty good evidence against evolution, one is the bombardier beetle, the other is the giraffe. Both of these critters have certain features that had to have been created simultaneously otherwise they wouldn't be able to exist. Evolution could not have allowed that. Contrary to what some in the science community wants the world to believe, God and those who believe in Him are not enemies of science. As I said earlier, science has proven the existence of God.

Where did you get the idea that our brains are different? If it was from scientific theory, that's no proof. Man has increased in knowledge because of necessity and in some cases out of wanting to make life easier or more fun. As far as our increase in size, that's because of better nutrition. Also, man has the ability to reason, to imagine, and the ability to create using our reason and imagination. What the beast create is done instinctively, not from reason or imagination. So, why do humans have these abilities that set us apart from the beast? As far as I'm concerned, it's a gift from God.

Ok first of all, i apologize because in my question i didnt explained myself very well, i was trying to said that science has dennied lots of religions, and evolution is 100% sure, our brains are different than the ones we had 2000 years ago, also we are taller than we were 1000 years ago, human kind needed to evolve faster and greater than other species, because we were the weakest specie on earth and we had to find other ways to hunt, and in that way survive, we developed the ability to use instruments, because we had no claws and big teeth. Stronger species by the other side, dont need to evolve alot, because they can survive in the way they are, crocodiles for example have not evolved over the last millions of years because they dont need to. For example if the weather changes drastically because of the global waarming, all the species on earth will be forced to evolve quickly and of course lots of species would die, even humans, but in some years we would notice the evolution on the species.
Science have not dennied or aprooved the existance of god, i would say it dennies it more than it aprooves it, because science is realistic and objective.
Cheers and thnx for answering.

Call it what you want, but is not a theory, we are evolving and not for good nutrition, also we are taller, we evolve because of "seleccion natural" our ancestors, aproximadetly 1,800,000 years ago evolve and need to start thinking because they were to weak, in fact we still are a really weak specie, the point is that they needed to find the way to hunt and not being killed, because they didnt have big teeths and claws to kill, so they started to use instruments, and then, thousands of years after, they needed to start thinking in order to make better instruments. And then thousands of years after the first civilizations started to grow up, and governments and religions were created, then thusands of years later cristianism was created and then just 2000 years later we are talking each other from different countries, now you see?,evolution is a llllooooooooonnnnnnngggggg proccess. Look it like this, the time humans have been on earth can be compared with one second in a 24 hours clock called Earth.
Im not dennying the existance of god, but nowadays religion doesnt give answers or knowledge, they used to do that, but now science do that and religions do spiritual things, and its not bad, science cant promove spiritual things, and religion cant promove science because they never do research, you see? they need to complement each other, i apologize for askin my question really bad, but you cant denny the truth of science, just as i cant denny the fact that science heals and helps millions of people from all around the world.

How has science proven that God doesn't exist? If science is the only way to knowledge and truth, why does it have to keep correcting itself? Governments control people through religion? Haven't you ever heard of communism? If you don't believe in God, then how can you say he loves to make us suffer and kill people? How can something that doesn't exist do that? As you say, "that sounds a little stupid."
I believe in God because I have eyes to see and a brain for thinking. I know nothing comes from nothing therefore what I see before me had to come from somewhere. You can try to use the big bang theory, but something had to go bang in the first place. What was that something and from where did it come? As I said, nothing comes from nothing, therefore there has to be something or someone who is eternal. That would be GOD.

"There is a theory that is the most acceptable for me that says that in the beginning the universe was conformed by just 1 proton and 1 electron and then a bad reaction between them ocassioned to go in different directions between time and space..." Cosmology is all very interesting, but it does not prove the nonexistence of God. It proves God exist. Protons and electrons are parts of the atom along with neutrons. From where did that atom come and what caused it to explode? Have you ever known an atomic blast to cause anything other than destruction when not in controlled surroundings? And yet you want me to believe that one proton and one electron exploded into the order I see around me. As I said before, someone has to be eternal and to add to that, just as man has to be in control when exploding atoms, God was in control when your proton and electron exploded. Otherwise, there is no order.

Great topics bro,
What I believed is there is a karma that following us as what I know that karma is universal law that you could never resist.
I myself do not believed that God arrange for us to be happy or suffer. You are the one who have a choice to put yourself which one do you prefer. If you prefer good life in future, you must do good things. That simple.
What I do not believed also that we have to pray everyday or every hour just to make HIM happy and like us. If there is a GOD, HE or SHE would not be like that.

I can honestly say that I do believe in God. He has been very good to me and he guides me all the time. I know that all things are possible if you just believe. That's why I believe in God.
I know that there are so many things that needs to be proven in this world and God is one thing that need to be proven. Well for my answer to that is just look around you, you'll see all the creation he brought for me and you.
I know it is hard to believe something you can not see. But here's the catch it is better to believe something you don't see because what if God is really true. You stay safer that way because you already believe in him. Right?
I don't like to argue about this because my knowledge is not capable of letting me win any argument like is there really a God..
For that question, I definitely answer yes I do believe in God.

YES!!! I DO BELIEVE IN GOD... Believing in the almighty God do not requires any scientific reason...it requires faith...there are a lot of things that science cannot explain... even the existence of men. They made lots of theory that are not evident enough... Science and God are two different things they are not fiends but actually they are friends... the more you understand science the more you should understand how great God is..this is a fact that most people overlook...they thought that believing in science means turning their back into God... which is a big NO! for instance..do you know how long is the coiled DNA when you stretch it out? it's more or less 10-20 meters long! now? imagine how this 10-20 meters long DNA was capsulized inside the cell...amazing isn't it...? it's something that we cannot understand... and it is science..but behind this fact we can embrace the truth that God really exist... the Almighty one did it... he was able to capsulized the DNA inside the cell..you see? true science do not contradict to the rule of God..because as you embrace science the more you understand the beauty of god's creation hence the more you become faithful to him...

I just have to say that as youve said, they are friends and nofriends, in my point of view they complement each other, but, that doesnt means that studying science makes you turn back into god, its totally opposite, the more you do research in science , the more you leave god,and the same thing happens with religion, the more you believe on it, the more you denny science, in my point of view god and science love each other, but they hate each other much more.Ask a scientist if he believes in god, you will understand my point.

Well, i have to say that believing in god helps millions of people all around the world, just by the fact that they need something that gives them confidance, the confidance that they dont have in theirselves, call it god or anything, it would be the same if we believe in a pencil or in a tv, it will give us the same confidence, but that doent means its real, and yeah, the world is amazing, and the universe well.. i dont have words to describe it, but everyone tells us since we are kids that god created us or things like afterlife, but they never told us that we came from the stars or that there is no reason to our existance , 70% of the humans think that there is a reason to everything, but that´s a really human thought not an universal one, they feel like the best especie ever, and we are not we are a really young specie and maybe it will take thousands of years to denny those believings, but believe me that time will come. Why i told you this? because we are talking about cristianism, and that religion is responsable of tellling us thing like that, they also teached the humanity one of the stupidest mistakes ever..."mercy","compassion", and in that way they hit science with a bowling ball, why? mercy means that we need to have compassion with the weaker ones, and that dennys evolution, one of the thousands of science laws 100% prooved, mercy dennies natural selection, but they are forgiving that natural selection is what made us humans....and cristianism has been teaching that mistake since thoousands of years, saying us that we have to help the weaker ones to be in paradise, and if that thought preserves more years, im sorry but human kind will be extinct in some years, when the weather of planet earth change drastically just as earth have been doing since millions of years, call it ice age or global warming but weather will change soon.
So my point is that its ok to believe in anything, but if we talk about crisitanism, we cant talk about a friendship between jesus and science.
I hope i explained myself well because as you sure noticed before, i dont speak english really well, thats why i keep using the same words over and over hahah lol.

I apologize my friend, sometimes i cant explain myself really well because i dont speak english really well. But of course nothing can´t denny at 100% the existance of god, but i don´t believe in god because, there are millions of people suffering in other parts of the world, we have a good life so we can be grateful to god, but what about the other people, dying and crying right now. That´s one of the biggest reasons in wich i dont believe in god, also because the evolution, and that science have prooved that creasionism is false.Im not saying that is bad to believe in god and of course i dont want to confront anyone here, but i think that if god exists he is really unfair with the world, what makes us special? why there were animals and before we were here? why? why? why?religion its really contradictory, that makes me doubt about the existance of god.

God, don't like that but man does it. God, never broke his words and say that man should suffer form those things because of there sins. until man doing sins and all unacceptable in the eyes of God. Sufferings is always until the day of judgment,my friend.
Animal is not first existed than man. Human is the first creation of God. As I said to you, my friend. See the sky, the moon, the sun, the stars and all in the Universe and deduce that God, is existed.
Just broaden your mind, my friend. Who created those things. Do you believe they are created by those scientist who only explore and discover those planets in the universe. Even big bang is not prove by those scientist or about the black hole because God, hide it in their minds.
Religions in not contradictions my friend. But people who teach it. If you read the Bible, there is no contradiction in it. They don't know what religions means. Even those speaking in greeks where that words is coming from will not arrive in the true meaning. Religion is from the words "religare", of greek words. Meaning is to bind again with God. And other terms "To bring back again with God" or to have faith with God.
So there is no contradiction with that right? Those people in the sect is contradicting in belief not the Words religion. If you don't have religion meaning you are not belongs to God, and you are not believe in God. Where this is the reason why God, send those plague and other sufferings on earth.
Now, think about it, my friend. You are not believe in God. Therefore your the reason why people suffering more worst than you expected. Don't blame God, with that blame yourself because you don't believe in God.
I ask you. Who made everything in the universe? If you believe scientist. Ask the scientist to made earth that no violence and no hunger that have a perfect life?

Let me say this, first of all, you are venturing into something that you don't fully understand. Science did not create the atmosphere. Man can not create air, trees, or any living thing that is on this earth.
Just because you have an opinion about how this world was created doesn't mean that you should knock what someone else believes in.
I believe in God, I believe that God created this world and created man and every living thing on this planet. I believe that God created the planets and the solar system. The government is not wise enough to create space or the solar system, or black holes. Science can discover planets beyond earth, but create them, man is not that capable of creating something that vast and in such great order.
Since you stated that you don't understand maybe you should do more reading. I would suggest reading the Bible and then talking to someone that you know who understands the meaning of life and how it was created. God has always given Man a free will, to think and make his own decisions. God is not a dictator who wants to control your life. You make the choice, you choose what you will believe. As a matter of fact, you have.

Hello
First of all, I'm not confused.. you're confused. You said you were confused. A believer's world is not perfect, however the Word of God tells us that we are made perfect through Jesus Christ who gave his life for our sins. I didn't take your question as being confrontational at all. I can understand that you are confused about the world we live in. As I stated before, God gave man a free will to make his own decision about life. Whether he would serve God or the Devil. That is the choice that is given to us. God is not a dictator forcing what he created to do as he says like slaves. God loves us so much that he allows us to decide what we want to do. God loves you and is concern about your life and the way you live your life. Just like a parent is concerned about their children. I enjoyed your post and I hope you have more interesting topics to discuss.

Ok, i could see that youre really confussed about my question, let me explain.
.The reason why i created this topic is not to confront any body or any religion thoughts, i just wanted to know the reasons that make people believe in god.
.I didnt said that science created the universe, no one can, also i didnt said that men or government created the universe,Ive said that men created religions, that´s diferent, in fact, men cant create nothing, because there´s no way to create matter in the universe, everything that you see is the same, matter never is created and never disappears, it only transforms, just as energy.
.And ok of course i will keep reading till the end of my life, and ive read bible, and it was the only book that have not tell me anything.
.Finally.Its ok for you to believe, i admire believers, i want to analize them, analyze their minds, what makes them believers, i dont want to confront them, but i admire them because believers life isnt full of confussions and new knowledge, because believers world is perfect, me by the other way im always confussed about everything, and i want to keep researching to gain more knowledge just to try to be as relaxed as believers are with their perfect world.
I hope you understood by now the reasons of this topic.
Thanx for answering and Cheers my friend.

Really... How can science prove god doesn't exist? Science by its own definition can only deal with the natural world. Yet god, by it's own definition exists external to the natural world.
How then do you propose that Science can disprove something it can't be used to quantify?

hi robert..
i am so sorry for you because you don't believe on HIM.. if that's what you think we can't change it, we can just let you know that HE is real.. i do believe HIM, HE is my strenght and my power.. HE is always there to help me and to make me feel that HE loves me.. so if you don't believe on HIM, can you tell us who created people, nature, animals and all impossible things that a person can't do it alone?? i hope you will change your perception in life and learn to believe in HIM.. i think you are not a christian, please change it.. thank you..
janebeth.

I think that's the whole thing about becoming a Christian and believing in God, it's a faith thing. It's not something that can be proven or disproven, you just know. So it's a bit of a conundrum really. Science can't prove that God exists but it can't prove that he doesn't either. I believe in God because I have faith that he exists. You can't refute that in any way. So yeah, I suppose you could call it "irrational" but I guess that's what makes it 'faith'.

Well, first of all, the word creation, was created by men, and it shouldnt exist, because theres is no way to create matter, its impossible!. And it´s ok that you believe on him and im glad to know that it helps you in your life. Just think about it, species evolve, they are just leptons, with cells that can react with some elements, they are not created by anyone, and that is 100% prooved by Oparin & Haldane since 1929! read some books man.
Thanks 4 answering man but i cant be a cristian without any prooves.
