I love to travel almost as much as I love to stay home! The most amazing vacation I ever took was when my husband and I were poor university students, working and going to school and I found a bus ticket that someone had used as a bookmark in a book I checked out from the library. It was a round trip ticket for two and the destination was 1200 miles (1031 kilometers) each way. We packed peanut butter sandwiches and rode the bus 2 days and 3 nights and ended up at a most beautiful beach. Later when we could afford to go in style we went back there several times by air and had a wonderful time whenever we went, but never was a trip as glorious as that first time when we were young and broke. Here is a photo that shows just how it looked: http://www.cancunspringbreak.us/img/mazatlan.jpg

Dear drannhh, It has such a breathtaking view, just love it. Great photo I am overjoyed to read your post and your first adventure of 1200 miles with your love one. It is truly a blessing from God. I agree with you, your first adventure out there is the most memorable one...a priceless moment. All the best and Cheers

Thank you Iriene88. When we are really old and maybe can no longer travel, this will always be a good memory.

Hello Drannhh, I have just check out the photo, it is so nice and I just love your post as much as Iriene ! Always the first one is the best! I bet you just have a great time on the first visit to the beach and it was your unforgettable trip for both of you. For me, the most amazing vacation I ever have was the first vacation I went with my hubs. We went to Redang Island when we started our relationship after 1 year. It was a beautiful island and still not polluted. We went snorkeling at the marine park and saw many beautiful fish. One of the destinations that I would like to go in the future for my family vacation is Destin, Florida. In fact, Destin, Florida has been named “Top Family Destination” and "Best Beach in the South”. Destin, Florida is a great place to relax on the beach lazily, taking in the crisp Gulf breezes and admiring the crystal clear waters and sugar white sands.

Hi Vingyan, I love traveling and especially hilly places. Recently I traveled Masuri. It is known as the queen of hill stations in India. Thousands of tourists visit this hill station to enjoy the beauty of the Himalaya. It is a hill station at the height of 4000 mts. We were not alone but had a group of 3 couples and enjoyed a lot. Masuri is one such hill station that has aunique beauty of its own and is still not converted or polluted like many other Indian hill stations. That is why the visit to Masuri is still pleasant and enjoyable for all the tourists. Masuri is full of beautiful site seeing places like water falls, lush green parks, hiking and jogging trails, picnic points and the cable car rides. The Kempty fall is one of the most beautiful spots to be visited at Masuri. Thanks, Aira

Hello Airakumar! I like your response! After reading your response here, I get to know a little more about hill station in India. I guess I will like Masuri! I never been to any high hills before. If I have the chance to travel to India, I will not miss this Masuri hill station. I like water fall, green park and I like hiking! Hope the Masuri is still in such a perfect condition when the time I am there to visit this place. Probably it will take at least a few years time for me to save some money to India. I like natural, I have been to some beautiful island in my country. Do you know Malaysia has many beautiful islands. Some of the island is still not polluted and the water is very clear and the white sand you just could not miss it. Happy Mylotting !

Hi Vingyan, I know that Malaysia has many beautiful islands and the island has won numerous awards in the past also. Yes, also some of the island is still not polluted as you said and this is true also and the water is very clear and the white sand you just could not miss it. Recently, one of my relatives, visited Malaysia, they took so many photos of White sandy beaches, crystal clear blue sea, brilliant underwater world. Redang archipelago comprises 9 islands Island and the main Redang Island that abound with marvelous marine fishes, turtles and coral reefs that ensure great snorkelling and scuba-diving. They booked for Ping Anchorage package tours from camping to luxury beach resort, and they enjoyed a lot..

Dear Vingyan, If money and time is not an issue, I will definitely would like to travel around the world, to Norway to see the beautiful aurora, Santa Clause Village in Finland and enjoy the luxury Caribbean Cruise I went to Beijing and climbed the Great Wall of China. The experience and the feeling was awesone, being able to be there (the only man-made structure that can be seen from the moon). I went to the Great Pyramid in Egypt, it is spectacular.. fantastic for photography! Eastern Europe countries are excellence for its architecture and history. The Neuschwantein Castle in Germany is so captivating which is the inspiration of the Sleepy Beauty Castle in Disneyland! However, I would like to share this place that is so unique and memorable to me till now....it is situated in China. Wuzhen is an old water village and known as the Venice of China! Wuzhen Town, in Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province, has a history of more than 1,000 years. Over 80% of the ancient residential houses, workshops, post office & stores still standing on the banks of the rivers have remained unchanged, lending an atmosphere of antiquity:) Tradition is still very much alive in Wuzhen. In addition to flower-drum opera, shadow-puppet shows, and temple fairs, Wuzhen also attracts visitors with its time-honoured art of making indigo-dyed printed calico. In ancient times, indigo-dyed printed calico was used for curtains, scarves, and tablecloths in every household in the countryside of Zhejiang Province. Today, it is still common to see old women in indigo-blue gowns leisurely operating spinning wheels or looms at weaving workshops in the old lanes of Wuzhen. You can sit on small boat (like gondola) by the river and go under the beautiful bridges...beautiful scenery! Wuzhen has been included by UNESCO in the reserve list of world cultural heritages. A place that I highly recommended, it bring you back in time So Travel the World and See More..Happy MyLotting too!

I try to travel out of the country at least once a year. 2 weeks from now I will do travel out of country. It's much cheaper during off-peak season to fly with airfare promos. Travelling is my outlet of stress and I guess it's a time to unwind. I also do travel at other places or provinces here in our country. Like for example in Vigan Ilocos Sur. You guys should check that place out. A time travel over time because of the heritage district place.

I really like travelling, but i have to work, so less chance, i like to travel with less than five people, if a lot of people travels, i thought it was nosizy and you don't have time to appreciate the landscope and enjoy them. In the beach, in the odl building, in the wild, in the unlimited highland

Hello eyesighting, Thanks for your response. Yeah, to travel we really need to have the spare time. It is hardly go for a long travel vacation for a person who is working. I like to go travel with my family. Although we are from a big family, but getting to travel together is so much fun! It is noisy but we treat it as enliven. Happy Mylotting and wish you have a great vacation real soon!

I am not much of a traveler. Did go to New Mexico last month to visit our daughter. I don't sleep well away from home and probably because I'm not using my own pillow. Our best vacation so far was to Maui, Hawaii. It was just gorgeous. Long flight though so am not anxious to return. We took the trip about 15 years ago with our three kids so we all experienced a gorgeous sight. I am perfectly content being at home, in my own bed with my own pillow. Guess I am considered to be a creature of habit.

I really love traveling and used to do more of it when I was younger. These days I have less chance to travel that often. Still I make sure that I get at least one overseas trip a year. This year I went to South Africa. I was pregnant with my baby girl and I took my toddler son to explore Cape Town and the Garden Route. Last year I took my toddler son to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. In 2007 when my son was a baby I took him to Portugal. My longest trip lasted just over one year and that was around the world when I was 20 years old. If money wasn't an issue I would travel for six months out of every year I imagine.

Dear maximax8, I love your way of 'live life to the fullest' I like your motto of 'seeing the world ' and I salute you for travelling for more than a year to travel around the world. You started at an early age of 20, that's great. Could you share with me. what's drives you to take this step of travelling around the world. Who do you travel with and how much in total does it cost you. When did you do it! It is so interesting to hear 'first hand' from a person who really have the passion to travel. Good job, hope that I can travel with you one day!

I only went to 3 foreign cities : Singapore, London, and Paris. Well, 4 if Edinburgh is counted. The most I remember is definitely Paris. I went there from London and booked only two days before, hadn't booked any hotel and even think to sleep on a bench if I cannot find any hotel, didn't speak French at all (many French don't want to speak English and helping me) at all even though they actually understand what I say. Luckily I found one of my friend from States there and we finally mange the trip together. It's a thrilling experience that I won't ever forget, plus, Paris is such a beautiful city, wanna go back there again!

There are so many places in our own country to be seen and enjoyed with families. I think it will take a good amount of time, energy and money. After that only I can think of going out of the country for sight seeing.

hi vingyan06! yes, i travel frequently either with my family or friends. but most of the time, not for vacation purposes. always due to some errands that i need to work with. but last february, i went to hongkong with my two brothers, sis-in-law and nephews. awesome bonding moment for us siblings. april, i went to bohol island with my relatives because of the dental mission. we all enjoyed it there. then last may, i went to guimarras island with my friends. we stayed there only for one 2 days and one night. quite enough for us to roam around the province. then another errands in the province which i stayed for a month! now, am in manila but will probably be leaving on the third week of this month because with or without my consent, my lovingly annoying friends already bought a plane ticket for me to get to cagayan de oro city, hoo! good thing some airline companies are providing good discounts for the travel. so far, i think bohol and palawan are the two best places i've visited. so there! :)

Yes, I'd love to travel more often. The ideal company would be with the other half. I've never really been a fan of family vacations because our interests are too different and we can't seem to get along all that well coping with that. Travelling alone can be quite depressing, at least that's what I concluded from personal experience.
