I was one of the person who was always saying the money is more important than health. But guess what happened, about three years back, I had a heart attack, and I had to under go a triple by pass surgery. This surgery and hospitalization costed me nearly Rs.4,50,000/ (nearly $,10,000). So what ever I had saved, I lost in this. Money is of course important, but the first priority is health. As you have rightly mentioned, what is the use of money, if you are not able to enjoy because of ill health.

who said that if we don't have much money we can't enjoy life? although i don't have much money, otherwise if i do really have, i wouldn't join this site:) lol, i'm still happy. money is not everything. you're right, with good health we can do anything to earn some money. what if you're sick, lying on a hospital bed? it's impossible for us to get even a penny. the source of happiness is not always money, although i admit that we do need money to survive. happiness or enjoying life can come from our beloved family, our unique talent, anything you name it.

I think it's a two-headed coin. Im all for being healthy.. however, sometimes, without the money to pay for proper medications and procedures, one's quality of life can be severely hindered. One of the medications that I need from time to time costs $960 per month alone, and I still have about another $500 worth of medications that I need at all times. When I have to use the $960 one, it is EXTREMELY important to be monitored by a physician while consuming it due to possible liver complications that it could cause. Out of the 4 medications that I need, Medicaid pays for only one. With the combined therapy, I can get a job and maintain it.. Without.... I'm lucky if I can last two weeks on a job.

Good health do come with good money ,even if we choose health over money, its the reality. The way of living sure can be changed if one has lots of money, but the health is always the barrier, any one poor or rich must have a sure sounded and fullest of his/her health. The life never is complete without it.
Money buys health, with good food, good care and always fresh nourishment,I must say.Health do come without money when its the hard earned determination for a good health. Many who haven't got enough money do make up their better health with the available things leading to enriched health.

I do agree with you . Health is a gift given by God to us. We should take utmost good care of out health. If good health is there everything is there. Money is also very important . Money also makes you feel happy. You can fullfill your needs. Therefore both Health and Money go head to head.

hi sunstar,
I remembered one of my discussion in class when I glanced at your post here. I asked them to make a debate on which is more important, health or wealth( money). And guess which side won? No group won and we decided in the end of the debate that health and wealth or money is important in both ways. It is true that we cannot be healthy without money. Even though money sometimes fail us to save our health like having a cancer or aids, still it is a major need for someone to get a good condition. Especially if someone lives in the cities where houses are very close to each other and there isn't enough space to plant vegetables or some trees in case they don't have money to buy vegetables in the market. Although I also prefer health over money but without money, somehow, good health is quite difficult to achieve. And of course without good health, we cannot work and acquire money for us to survive. So with this, I can see that each has its own importance. Happy mylotting! Keep posting :)

Hi there,
I emphatically say, health is the first important. I agree with you.
But dont forget to use our healthiness, to keep on searching money.
I think why dont we just stick together, to be healthy and have the money to sufficient our needs.Peace....

Health is definitely more important than money. No doubt about it and i guess we all know the reason why. But i will say my opinion anyway,. It is important because one cannot earn money when they are not healthy. Just imagine when you are sick, you don't have enough energy to spend and the outcome would be, staying at home to get well. You might also affect some of your office mates so in the end, you cannot attend work anymore. So HEALTH would really go first before MONEY.

For me both of them are important. But the most important is health because you can do what you want to do if you are healthy. Maybe right that money is important, we could survive in this life if we don't have money. But let we think, if we have much money but we are sick. What is the function of all our money? In the other hand if we don't have much money but we are healthy we could work hard to get the wealth. Never worry about the money. My mom always said never worry about money, many people in the world create/ produce moneys. But no one produce the healthy condition.

Hi, For me, health is very important than money because, I feel if you are healthy You can earn money. So, I think we have to be fit and healthy in the sense you have to be healthy both mentally and physically. There is saying "Health is Wealth" which means if you are healthy you are wealthy, so first be healthy and if you are happy then earn lots and lots of money and enjoy the life at the fullest.

both are important, if you don't have money, you don't have enough food to eat that will nourish your body. it's important to take care of your health too, because if it's not been taken care of, you'll be spending a lot of money going to the doctor.

As someone who has neither and never will have. I still say i want to keep what health I have. Money does not buy happiness and I can do more with less than most people. I may never again travel the world except in my books and in my mind, but I am ok with that.
As long as i can move around it is a good day. If I do not have to take strong pain meds it is a good day and if I can keep the surgries down to every other year then I feel I am slowing down the arthtiris. Every little thing is so important when fighting arthritis.
I actually feel sorry for those that put money before health. May God bless you all.

Health is the most important thing. We earn money so that we can maintain good health by having good food and having good facilities. But it is also true that all the people do not have that money to spend on such kind of facilities. So in that case money also becomes equally important. So I think it is a trade off between the two. We should have good health but money is required to maintain it so it is also equally important.

I think we need to keep a balance.
Health and Wealth come hand in hand. Health IS wealth but you can also say that wealth also determines your health.
It's a two sided thing really but to sum it up, try your best to live a healthy life and work hard to make ends meet.
