Sneezing; how will you control it?

Hello mobhomeir i know sometimes a sneeze may come when we least expect it but I hate when people do it and don't cover their mouth a child is one thing but there is no excuse for an adult to do this it makes me really upset, I had this friend that would do that a grown man just let it out like it was nothing, I would say cover your mouth how old are you why should I have to tell you that, it is not o.k for you to share you germs with me, so when I am around make sure you cover you doggone mouth, ughhh just the thought I must say he always covered his mouth after that lol

hi there! i so love reflexology. always having that for massage. i was told that when i feel like sneezing, try to press the thumb finger it wont come out. or the best way is to bring handkerchief. or tissue. it's not embarassing anyway. it happens. :)

Speaking of sneezing, I just sneezed in the church yesterday and I couldn't stop it. If I could stop it I would but it just came out. There are a few times when your sneeze is somewhat suppressed and I hate that either. You're true you can't open your eyes when you sneeze. But did you know that sneeze is therapeutic? Have you observed that after you sneeze you feel better?

Pinching my nose for a 5 to 7 seconds do the trick.ü

Hello Martin.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHA....i can't imagine sneezing with eyes open wide lolz..naughty amigo jejejeje! I also cannot control sneezing and who cares...when i am exposed to smoke/dust...phew..here it goes...haaaaaaactchoooooooo!!!hehehe. Well,who can hold sneezing then?...have u ever tried holding or controlling ur sneeze?...or...you can blow your nose unexpectedly and make a balloon ...what's worst then?...hahahahahaha

Well I don't know if this really works, but I try my best to think "don't sneeze don't sneeze don't sneeze" in my mind when I feel an oncoming sneeze. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Another option is to control your sneeze's sound. I make my sneeze really high pitched sometimes on purpose and sometimes unconsciously and less people notice it.

hello mobhomeir, i can't control either. indeed, it's embarrassing sometimes especially in the middle of a mass, meetings and the likes but can't help it. the best thing that i can do is to apologize. tried to cover my nose before doing it, but still i need to do it anyway.

Hi there! From what I know, it's not good to control when you feel sneezing.. Sneezing is one way to get to rid of those microorganisms that enters our nose and the cause why we feel like sneezing. Sneezing can clean the nasal passages. When I can't help it and happen to sneeze in public I just cover my nose with a hanky and say "excuse me". It's not humiliating to be sneezing in public as long as you know how to do it properly. But if you really want to control your sneeze, hold your nose with your thumb and index finger to prevent air from coming out. That will prevent you from sneezing. Ciao!

I hate it when I sneeze. I don't know why, but I tend to sneeze 3 times or more when I sneeze. It's weird because everyone looks at me. Old Classmates, Co-Workers, Family, in church, etc. I tried seeing a doctor but he said its just natural. The doctor informed me to just wash my hands a lot and try and stay away from lots of germs. Stay clean and safe is what he would normally say. I pray to god that my sneezing issue would get better and for you too. For the MyLotters reading this, have a good day!

i! I think its not possible to control sneezing. Its very difficult. But its possible to reduce the loudness of it. I mean it is possible to sneeze softly. I think its natural and so we don't have to feel bad about it. Yeah! It is not possible to open the eyes wide when we sneeze...

I haven't this attitude of this, but i advice you not to be care of this, maybe it's normal, you do not make harm to anyone, that's ok.

When I feel a sneeze coming, or my nose tingling, I usually try to stop it by holding my breath, and pressing the side of my finger against the spot just below the nose bone. Or, you can try out different locations on the nose area. Don't put too much pressure, but don't be too soft on it. Sometimes, that doesn't work. If it doesn't work, I try to make my sneeze as soft as possible. I hold my nose shut and only let it out through my mouth.

I've read someplace that suppressing a sneeze is really bad for your body because you risk bursting a blood vessel...and dying. If you need to sneeze, sneeze...just cover your nose and don't spread the disease. (wow, poet and I didn't know it)

Yeah sneezing occurs due to the irritation in the nose or if you are suffering from common cold..sneezing infront of all the people is quite not a good habit but it occurs naturally and how to stop it? Usually i close my nose if there is a warning that sneezing is going to come and amazingly this works...so you guys also might have tried this technique and who ever havent tried it yet try it...but the fact that we cant open our eyes while sneezing is real and whoever can open his eyes is a superman for me.......

I think it happens more often if you sleep after a hard working day. So, before going to bed, try to take a rest and relax.

I have the problem of sneezing. This is because of some allergy . It will occur continuously five or six times in a row. If I am in a crowd, I will close my mouth and nose with the kerchief . We should not control this. If it is because of allergy, it should be treated

I don't do anything to stopp it. Just let it come naturally. Apologize and ask to be excused if it is too disruptive.

I think this happens when you are so concerned about what other think about you. It's your life & no one is going to put in jail for sneezing, but if you are sneezing, it should not be on the face of the next one near you. Even if I'm in a meeting or in a church, since sneezing is natural, I really don't care what others will think, but I'll ensure that I take a handkerchief or atleast cover my mouth with my hands . Most of the times if I sneeze then there will be a sequence of 5-6 following By the way you can prevent sneezing by blocking your nose with your hands & you can get a success rate of 90%

well, as you are aware of this so-called "bad attitude" of yours, it is time that you know of the ways to stop it, if not, lessen it. because you are aware of that attitude, you should first know what irritates you to make you sneeze. when you go to church and afraid that this will happen there, find yourself a seat near the door... that way, when you really feel like sneezing, you can just readily go out of the church and blow your nose outside. the same way may also apply in attending meetings. if you sneeze a lot and you do not know why it happens, please consider seeing a doctor. p.s. i'm sorry i cannot generate an answer to your last question. i'm not in a sneezing mode right now, lol

what i do is i just grab my nose hard and it stops :) when it is uncontrollabe and when i even don't have the time to take out my tissue then i really get embarrased. n i have got a great trick that you can use when your sneeze just stop after it was coming out, what you can do is take your eyes to a bright light and you will sneeze for sure that's a fact i don't know why but it is a fact. and it works all the time. :) cheers
